Act 1: Departure

Note: Non-OC; Setsuko and Takeshi are Yuji's highschool friends who appeared in JJK (they're the ones who uncovered Sukuna's finger) :))

A few weeks prior.

"Yuuuuuuji~!" A female voice chimed in calling out to the oblivious young man, who's busy twiddling with his pen on his office table. The sudden appearance of the familiar lady made Yuji perk up, smiling at her.

"Hey! Setsuko!" He hugged Setsuko, Yuji's childhood friend and currently, his co-worker.

"What's up? Why are you so happy today?" A man with average features also joined in smiling, Yuji acknowledged his presence seeing another one of his childhood friends.

"And Takeshi, too!"

Yuji pulled away, as the pair showed their friend something, which made the other beamed with joy as he laid his hazel eyes on it. "Is that what I think it is?!" He replied enthusiastically.

In response, Setsuko nodded excitedly. "It's a free coupon from one of the newly opened restaurants near here!"

"So, Yuji? do you wanna come try it with us?" Takeshi asked him.

For Yuji, he could never say no to some free food. Although he maintained a lean but muscular physique, he was a glutton, especially with rice and toppings. But he knew there was something else for this coupon to be availed, they all have one.

"Sure!" Yuji responded but furrowed his eyebrows slightly. "But, what's the catch?"

"Well..." Setsuko inspected the coupon as two men watched her intently while reading for its mechanics before replying.

"...There's nothing?"

Hearing the lady's response, Yuji grabbed the coupons and inspected them himself.

"No shit?" He scanned the contents only to confirm what Setsuko said. "This must be a scam Setsuko, right?" Returning the coupon to her hand, only rotating her head in denial.

"That can't be..." She trailed off for a moment, as she thought deeply. "It has been the gossip inside the workplace today. Plus, I also went ahead and saw that there were many people already in queue to try it."

Suddenly, a realization came to Yuji.

"Ah! There are many customers there right now, maybe that's the catch!" Yuji said as he grabbed their wrists, earning him looks of confusion as he hurriedly went out while he continued.

"Maybe they can only cater for a limited number of people."

"Y-You think so?" Takeshi responded shaking his head. "Right. Let's get on with it!" He said with resolve and Setsuko nodded, agreeing to the idea.

As the trio arrived at the area, they were really surprised to see that there was indeed a long line waiting just to serve them lunch. And even so, they queued up and tried waiting patiently.

"Takada Eatery..." Yuji pronounced the place's name. "What a funny name." He remarked, but the other pair could only sigh in worry.

"Do you think we can still make it?" She asked worriedly, a visible frown of dejection flashed on her face, but Yuji brushed it off, still eager and part of him hoping that they were lucky today.

At this time, Takeshi was also doubting their current situation, seeing that the line is barely moving, at all.

"It's a long queue for this, Yuji. Are you sure about this? You know we can always go to another place to eat." He queried.

"Yep!" You smiled at him, trying his best to cheer themselves up.

"Just trust me on this one, guys! I'm sure we're lucky today and that we'll have our lunch here, and avail this free coupon!" He finished with a bright smile towards them, earning him their helpless sigh, but still content enough to believe what Yuji was expecting.
