"Pardon?" Jungkook's voice sliced through the tension as he turned around to face you. He knew he had caught something you didn't intend for him to hear. "Repeat what you said," he demanded, his expression hardening. "I didn't say anything," you replied, avoiding his gaze.He stepped closer,

his presence looming over you. "What's so wrong in what you said, Ms. Lee?" His tone was probing, testing your patience. He knew how to push your buttons, and this time, he wasn't holding back. "I'm sorry, Mr. Jeon. May I please leave?"

you replied, forcing a sweet smile, though he saw through it. He didn't want to prolong the confrontation. "Fine," he muttered, letting you pass. You left the building, feeling his glare on your back. Jungkook left soon after, his mood soured by the encounter. He questioned why dealing with you always left him frustrated and in a bad mood. Meanwhile, you stopped by a convenience store to pick up bread for sandwiches, all the while reminding yourself not to let Jungkook find out about the pregnancy.

You repeated those words to yourself for what felt like the hundredth time that hour. The bread wasn't your only purchase; you also bought pills. After some Google research, you considered them an option to terminate the pregnancy. You weren't entirely sure of their safety, but the thought of an easier solution was tempting.

Back at your apartment, you had dinner and prepared for bed. There was work left undone, but the lack of motivation kept you from tackling it. Overthinking kept you awake, questions swirling in your mind. You needed to talk to someone, to seek advice before making any hasty decisions. But who could you ask? Mr. Jeon was out of the question—a complicated and awkward choice.

You felt suffocated by the overwhelming decision looming over you. The fear of the unknown paralyzed you. Should you keep the pregnancy or not? The weight of the decision was crushing, affecting your sleep and work.

"Hey, don't lay your head on those papers—psst, Y/n, wake up!" Hoseok's voice interrupted your thoughts, annoyance evident. You and Jungkook hadn't crossed paths since that night, a relief that allowed you to breathe easier. But thoughts of Jungkook brought guilt, regret, and fear flooding back. You couldn't face him, couldn't look him in the eye. He meant nothing to you, nor did his child, yet he was the father. "Y/nnie, you barely eat with me now, you know?" Hoseok's voice was low, tinged with concern as he leaned on your desk.

You shifted your gaze to him, feeling the guilt of causing his concern. "Hey, I'm sorry, Hobi. I just haven't been in the mood for croissants lately." You hoped he wouldn't press further, as you had no answers to give that wouldn't complicate things further and the taste of the pastry leaves you in the verge to throw up.  "It's fine. I could come over to your place if you're free," Hoseok suggested. Relief flooded you at the distraction he offered.

"Of course you can! I'm free over the weekend," you replied with a smile, eager for the company. "Eyyy, movie night!" Hoseok exclaimed, raising his hand for a high five. You chuckled, recalling his fear of horror movies. You returned the high five, agreeing to plan the details on Saturday morning. Movie night was the only good news in days filled with work and research.

The pills seemed like a viable option, but doubts gnawed at your mind. Stress and pressure threatened to overwhelm you. You feared a breakdown at work, the weight of your decision crushing you as the days passed.

Taking a deep breath, you leaned back in your chair, practicing breathing exercises to calm your racing thoughts. Anxiety was setting in, a new and unwelcome companion in this ordeal. You prayed it wouldn't escalate further, knowing you couldn't afford having an anxiety attack.

Denial.

As the days counted towards the start of your third month of pregnancy, emotions overwhelmed you by the surging hormones. Denial about the pregnancy persisted, yet the changes in your body felt uncomfortably real. Visiting the gynecologist that evening to inquire about abortion pills only heightened your anxiety; the doctor's caution about potential side effects left you unsettled.
