I stepped out of the warm shower, shivers running down my spine as the cool air in the bathroom met my wet skin. Quickly, I grabbed the fluffy towel hanging nearby and wrapped it around my body, another towel around my dripping hair. The bathroom was dimly lit, the soft glow of the nightlight casting gentle shadows.

With a sigh of relief, I glanced at my reflection in the foggy mirror. My cheeks were flushed from the heat of the shower, but my eyes held the same tiredness they always did. I reached for the jar of facial cream on the counter, scooping out a small amount and began to apply it to my skin, hoping it would do some good.

I moved with a slow, deliberate pace, each action a small, calming ritual as I prepared for bed. My fingers traced the outline of my face, the touch grounding me in this quiet moment.

Once my skin was moisturized, I carefully chose a light blue silk nightgown from the hook on the back of the bathroom door. Slipping into the gown, I couldn't help but think about how Alice had picked it out for me, always insisting on adding a touch of elegance to my life.

I reached for the hairdryer, its familiar whirring sound filling the bathroom as I worked on drying my hair, strand by strand. The rhythmic motion of the dryer was almost hypnotic, and for a moment, I let my mind drift away, away from the worries of the day and the uncertainties of the night.

My hair, now partially dried, still needed some attention. I reached for the conditioner and worked it through the strands, smoothing it with my fingers. Then, I gathered my hair and secured it in a loose ponytail, letting a few strands frame my face. It was a casual style, but it felt right for this quiet night.

I paused to look at myself in the mirror, taking a moment to appreciate the image before me. I wasn't glamorous or extraordinary, but I was me, and that was enough for now.

As I walked back into the bedroom, I found Edward lying on the edge of the bed, his eyes tracing my every movement. His lips curled into a smirk, a twinkle in his eyes as he looked me up and down.

"Well, aren't you a vision?" he said, his voice low and appreciative. I couldn't help but feel a warm flush rise in my cheeks at his compliment.

"You're not looking too bad yourself, Mr. Cullen," I teased, my voice laced with playfulness.

He patted the space next to him on the bed, and I sauntered over, the silk nightgown rustling softly with each step. Climbing under the soft covers, I nestled beside him, my head finding its place on his chest. His arms wrapped around me, and I could feel the steady beat of his heart, a comforting rhythm that always eased my worries.

Edward reached out, his fingers lightly grazing my cheek, sending shivers down my spine. "You always have this incredible ability to take my breath away," he whispered, his golden eyes locked onto mine.

As our lips met in a tender kiss, the world outside seemed to fade away. The softness of Edward's mouth against mine was a welcome distraction from the worries that often plagued my mind. Our kiss deepened, and I felt a surge of warmth and desire, the connection between us growing stronger with each passing moment.

I shifted above him, straddling his waist, our bodies now intimately close. My fingers traced a path down his chest, feeling the cool, marble-like texture of his skin. Edward's hands explored my back, sending tingles of pleasure through me.
