One day in June, Rory got home from work to see Logan sitting on the couch, looking at Delilah who was laying on a play mat on the rug with balloons tied to her feet. "What the hell am I looking at?"
"Hey" Logan got up and went to kiss Rory. "This is my sister's genius"
"Balloons on the baby's feet?" Rory asked
"Ok, so Honor calls today and while we're on the phone Delilah starts crying, but she didn't need anything. She just woke up from a nap, she was fed, she was changed, everything, and Honor told me that she gets helium balloons and ties them to Tommy's feet. See the balloons are bright and shiny and they're above her so she can see them. Plus whenever she kicks her little legs they bump into each other and make noise. She's been there for half an hour, laughing her little head off. She loves it"
Rory thought it was weird, but she did appreciate something that kept a 5 month old entertained for more than 10 seconds. "Why not tie some to her hands too"
"I did, but she tried to eat the string so I took those ones off and added them to the ones on her feet"
"You realize that this is super weird, right?"
"Yes I do"
"Ok, well I'm gonna go change really quick so you can leave" Rory said. Logan was going to play basketball with Finn and Colin.
"Just one more thing" Logan said
"What?"
Logan put his hands on Rory's waist, pulling her close, and kissed her deeply. "I love you"
Rory smiled. "I love you too"

"How is it that we've been playing basketball together for almost 20 years, and you still suck?" Logan asked. He, Colin, and Finn had been friends since they were 5 and had been playing basketball together for just as long.
"Sorry, I'm a little distracted" Colin said and threw the ball to Logan.
"What? Did you get your girlfriend pregnant?" Finn chuckled, remembering Logan acting in a similar manner after finding out that Rory was pregnant. Colin just looked at him. "Woah. Dude. Is your girlfriend pregnant?"
"Logan, you like being a dad, right?" Colin asked
"Best thing I ever did" Logan said.
"Guys, I'm so screwed" Colin said
"Look, it's scary. Believe me, I know" Logan said. "But as soon as you look at that baby...I didn't know that it was possible to love something as much as I love Del" he said. "And Rory. I didn't think I could love her any more than I already did, but then she had my baby"
"Spoken like a true old fart" Finn chuckled
"I'm just saying, you're scared now. You won't always be" Logan said. "You're not gonna sleep for the next who knows how long, but you won't be this scared"
"I have like 9 months before the not sleeping thing" Colin said
Logan laughed and patted Colin's back. "No you don't. Let me tell you something, pregnant women? They don't sleep. They're nauseous, or they're uncomfortable, or they have to pee, and guess what. It's your fault"
"I am such a fucking idiot" Colin shook his head. "Condoms. Always use condoms"
"Wow, you really are an idiot" Logan said
"Wha- your girlfriend got pregnant too" Colin said. "Why am I any more of an idiot than you?"
"Because I used condoms" Logan's said. "And Rory was on birth control. Ours was a crazy coincidence. Yours was stupidity"
"Fine, I'm an idiot" Colin said. "Will you just help me figure out what the hell I'm gonna do"
"Sorry" Logan said
"Hey, how come we've never met your girlfriend?" Finn asked
"Actually, you already have" Colin said. "It's Stephanie"
"Woah"

To a lot of people's surprise Richard and Emily ended up getting divorced and Emily moved out of the house. Not long after Richard started having Rory, Logan, Delilah, Lorelai, and Luke over for dinner on Friday nights.
"How's Del doing?" Lorelai asked
"Noodle, tell everyone how you're doing?" Rory said. "Say I kept my parents awake all night because I didn't want to be put down"
Delilah giggled
"She's proud of herself" Lorelai chuckled.
"She doesn't sleep unless we're holding her" Rory said. "Naps too. She screams until someone picks her up"
"She loves her mama" Lorelai said
"Her mama's tired" Rory said. "She went back to work to early and is being punished for it"
"That's not true" Logan said
"Yes it is. I left her and now she hates me"
"That's not true" Lorelai said. "It's just your anxious mom brain telling you you're doing everything wrong when in reality, your daughter is very happy, and babies don't always sleep well because if they did then they wouldn't be babies"
"If I did this to you, I owe you a huge apology" Rory said
"You did it to me. I did it to him" Lorelai gestured to Richard. "When you didn't sleep I took a shower and brought you with me. You liked the water, and it relaxed you. Works with bath too and you guys have that cool shower bath thing"
"What do you have?" Richard asked
"When you get into our shower you have to go down a couple of steps" Logan said. "It's like a shower, but it's deep so it can also be a bathtub"
"That's cool" Luke said
"Try the shower thing" Lorelai said. "It works"
Later that night Rory was in the nursery with Delilah who once again wouldn't sleep, but that night, even though Rory was holding her, she wouldn't stop crying.
"Hey" Logan said softly as he walked into the room. "Any luck?"
Rory shook her head.
"You wanna try your mom's shower idea?"
"At this point I wanna try anything" Rory said
"Give her to me" Logan said.
Rory was skeptical, but within 5 minutes of Logan taking her into the shower, Delilah was asleep.
"My mother is a genius" Rory whispered.
Logan put Delilah in pajamas and put her down in the bassinet before he and Rory got into bed.
"Goodnight, Ace" Logan whispered.
"Night" Rory whispered back. "I love you"
"Love you too"
