SHORT CHAPTER 6.5: INTO THE OPERATIONS BASE

UNITED NATIONS FORWARD OPERATING BASE

A car approached the gate of the UN FOB, the guards at the front went to check who was driving.

It was Ethan Winters, the guards saluted him due to him being the CMT leader, and a close ally in the UN's fight against Pretty Blood.

Ethan saluted the guards back, then he drove to the parking space inside the base.

He exited his vehicle, holding some sort of folder as he was approaching a building.

He entered the building and saw a bee malino at the front desk arranging papers, there were other people in the building, but they were all humans.

That bee was the first malino that Ethan ever saw working for the UN.

She was wearing a blue UN beret, a buttoned long-sleeved shirt with a black tie, and black pants.

As Ethan approached, he saw a name tag on her shirt.

"Zelony B."

The bee finished arranging her papers then looked up at Ethan.

"How may I help you sir?" Zelony asked in a polite tone with a Jollyingtican accent.

"Can you call up one of your high ranking officers? It's important." Ethan replied.

Zelony squinted her eyes in suspicion, and suddenly she looked surprised like she remembered something.

"Wait, aren't you Ethan Winters?" Zelony asked.

"Yep." Ethan replied.

"I'm really sorry for not recognizing you, sir." Zelony said.

"It's alright, just, can you call up a high rank for me?"

Zelony dialed up a UN high rank on the telephone.

After the call, Zelony directed Ethan into a hallway that leads to the recruitment room.

"No, you're not getting recruited, it's just an HR is right in one of those rooms, his name is Lieutenant Houjin." Zelony said.

Ethan thanked Zelony and ran past a few UN workers who were walking near the hallway.

He entered one of the rooms and found the Lieutenant, he was a Chinese man in his mid-50's, he was also wearing the typical UN off-duty outfit, a blue UN beret, and some multicam BDU's.

"You must be Ethan Winters right?" The Lieutenant asked as he put his phone down on the table.

"Yes sir." Ethan responded. "I've investigated more things from our last raid together."

"Hm... take a seat." The Lieutenant said while gesturing Ethan to the seat infront of the table.

Ethan took a seat and placed the folder on the table.

"Have you heard of the Velocity Homeland Security PMC, Lieutenant?" Ethan asked.

"Nope, never researched into the PMCs of this world." The Lieutenant replied.

"They're one of our allies during our fight against Pretty Blood." Ethan explained. "Though I have some speculations that Velocity and Pretty Blood are working with each other for a while now."

"How would you say that?" The Lieutenant asked.

"I found some evidence on a confiscated computer in that building." Ethan said.

The Lieutenant opened the folder, and saw the file of Witness: Gabriele Girasole Stellare.

"Who is this?" The Lieutenant asked.

"He was the kid that our units rescued." Ethan said. "He could serve as a witness to this, also check the next page."

The next page shows an image of a CCTV footage, with a green bear, who works for Velocity, in a Diner, with Gabriele also in view.

Another image in that page also captures the same green bear talking to a deceased Pretty Blood member in an unknown part of Hunliny.

The Lieutenant viewed every page and closed the folder.

"We might come up with a plan to strike them from the inside, and gather some info." The Lieutenant said. "Though it could lead some backlash from the public, due to their reputation."

"Why don't we expose them first?" Ethan asked.

"It would be a bad idea for a war to start early." The Lieutenant said. "We could initiate a covert-ops, though it has to be composed of malinos."

"I could probably send my members in there." Ethan replied.

"I'll have a talk with the General if he can approve of this operation." The Lieutenant said. "You may go now."

"Alright thanks." Ethan said as he stood up and walked outside.

As he exited the room, he saw a dog malino walk their way to the recruitment room.

"You planning on joining the UN, mate?" Ethan asked.

"Yeah, I wanna fight Pretty Blood alongside them." The dog malino responded.

"Alright, it's always great to have more allies alongside us." Ethan replied.

"Alongside you? You're a cop?" The dog malino asked.

"Yes, and also I'm on my way to the exit, so goodluck with your training!" Ethan replied.

Ethan walked away, and so did the dog malino.

Ethan then walked over to Zelony.

"I've noticed your accent, are you from the USJ?" Ethan asked.

"Yeah, I moved here just to join the UN, there was nothing interesting to join back in the USJ." Zelony said. "Though after this I probably plan to start my own company back in my home country."

"Alrighty, I also better get going now." Ethan said, then waved goodbye.

As Ethan went outside, he can see several rockets fly into the atmosphere, the trails of the rockets filled the sky as he walked to his car.
