for 2 years, kenny sat alone in her chambers with nothing but a hard mattress and a tiny window that offered nothing but a peak of the outside world, despite this kenny didn't find her new living situation to be horrible or maybe that was because the heartbreak she was experiencing was making her numb to everything else
in her time of confinement, she had been forced to reflect on her actions, to think on the day she had lost the one thing she cherished most in her heart, at first she attempted to ignore it and distract herself but that was nearly impossible to do when you're only form of entertainment was a tiny window
king kyle didn't believe in the death sentence, so instead of execution, she was sentenced to life imprisonment, the day after her sentence was finalized, he had visited her, their last conversation was not a pleasant one, many tears were shed and it left them both with heavy hearts
admittedly, kenny felt little remorse for what she had done to the humans and elves, in her eyes they desvered it after everything they did, however, she regretted hurting him in the process of it all, the one person kenny ever felt a genuine connection too, who she loved with all her heart, at times there were moments were kenny wished she was executed, for nothing was worse than a broken heart
a knock came at her door, cutting her off from her train of thought, she hopped on her feet, it was probably the guard reminding her of her mealtime which she often skipped, she found food to have no taste anymore, no matter how well-prepared it was it always seemed to taste like ash
"you have a visitor"
her eyes glimmered with a sense of hope
"i-is it him?"
"no, it's not"
"oh..."
she bowed her head, feeling disappointed and foolish, of course, it wasn't him, why would he visit her?
the guard stepped aside and allowed the mysterious visitor inside, she stepped back in surprise
"..stan?"
stan the knight, king kyle's best friend and loyal companion since diapers, kenny had known stan for ages, as children they often played together with kyle, sneaking around the kitchen to steal snacks and pull pranks on each other for laughs, perhaps that was another reason why kyle chose to spare her life, he couldn't bare killing a lifelong friend
"hello princess"
he didn't speak with resentment, but rather like he was greeting an old friend
"w-why are you here?"
he gestured for her to take a seat on her mattress
"sit princess, we have much to discuss"
her imprisonment meant very little connection to the outside world, but apparently cartman was planning on starting a whole world war to take control of all the lands and that king kyle had teamed up with other neighbouring kingdoms to form a secret rebellion to strike the day before they could even launch an attack and that they wanted her to join in the rebellion, she needed a minute to process everything before she trusted herself to speak
"y-you want me to join the rebellion?
he nodded
"we need as many allies as possible, and if it coms to making amends with our enemies to have that happen, then so be it"
she raised a brow and crossed her arms
"and what makes you think I'll take part in this"
"you will be offered your freedom in exchange for volunteering"
