Jake passed away at 1:45 pm, May 18th. I was notified by the office, the question still rang in my head. Did Arabella know? Did she visit him? Was she there the whole time? When the school day was over I had Liam take me to Central Park. Which was in the city.
"Thanks, don't wait up. I'll be a while." I turned to Liam and remarked.
"Oh I can come with you right? What exactly are you doing?"
"I'm finding Arabella." He parked the car and decided he's following me. I hiked into the Center of Central Park, through all the tourists or just normal visitors, there I sat on the fountain. In the exact spot Arabella and I used to come drink our drink of the day and look at people. I would criticize, and she would listen. Liam reached for my hand and he intertwined his fingers with mine. I was happy with it, until I saw guys from our school. I looked at Liam, nodded in their direction and he dropped his hand. I rolled my eyes, but this is new for him, so I gave him a break.
He whispered to me. "Sorry I just." I cut him off.
"It's fine, I understand." I did, it still sucked none the less, but I didn't blame him.
"No, it's not. Fuck it." He placed his hand back where it was, joined with mine.
"You don't have to you know that?"
"But I want to." That made me smile. But that smile faded the second I saw what stood in front of me.
"Surprise bitches." It was Arabella, standing in front of me, she didn't look at all phased. Her short white dress was stained with blood, her hair was in a tangled bun. She looked like she hadn't slept and had been crying. She sat down on the fountain on the other side of me, she rested her head on my shoulder making me a Arabella-Liam sandwich. "I only came back for Jake."
"So you're going to leave again?"
"I'm not sure." She sniffled. I wrapped my arm around her shoulders and let her cry into my chest. With my other hand joined with Liams as he sat there awkwardly, I was most certainly a sandwich. I wasn't sure if she was just playing me, or if she actually felt sad. But I comforted her anyways, she was like a sister to me.
"So where did you go?"
"Do you really want to know?"
"Of course I do."
"I'll start with why I left."

" I met with Adam for lunch. I didn't mean to tell you it was a date, I should've had a different lie prepared but I wasn't thinking." She paused. "I wasn't thinking when I was doing any of this. When I met with Adam he talked about how he liked you, and how he was going to tell you, Madison, and Zoe about the accident. The truth about the accident. I told him it didn't matter, because in my mind, it didn't. He wasn't supposed to tell Jake, and he did. So when Jake found out I went to his house and I was there to apologize and tell him myself. He came and he was so angry, I've never seen Jake like that. He asked me why? Why a car accident? I told him it would be easiest for people to think he was missing and injured. I understand now that faking a car accident was stupid, really really stupid. I just couldn't think of anything else to do. I know that doesn't make it right. It was wrong. I know people will never trust me again. But I know with Jake gone, I can't forgive myself. I guess what I'm trying to say is that, I'm sorry, but I'm here now, but I don't know if I'm staying."I couldn't look her in the eyes, not because I didn't want to, because she wouldn't stop crying and wouldn't look at me. With one hand holding Liams, and the other on Arabella's shoulder. I realized I hadn't heard from Adam since chemistry, which was weird, normally he's all over me. "How did you know about Liam and I?"
"Adam."
"How did he know? Does he actually stalk me?"
"He went to your house to talk and then he saw Liam's truck and made a lucky guess."
"Arabella you can't leave again."
"I have things I need to do. Thanks for being there for me." She pushed herself off of me and walked nervously away, looking in every direction.
"ARABELLA WAIT!" I screamed, but she was already gone. Liam stood up behind me and sprinted after her with anger in his eyes. "LIAM WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" I ran after him, I'm glad I chose to wear jeans. I chased him through the woods, down an alley, then I got to the street. Both Arabella and Liam seemed to disappear into the concrete jungle. So I waited at Liam's car for what seemed like hours. He came back looking angry and tired. I ran into his arms and hugged him tightly.
"Arabella's gone." He mumbled.
"And so were you. Where the fuck did you go?" He didn't let me go, his heart was beating harder than a sledgehammer.
"I chased her down, she got in a car with Adam. I tried to chase her down. I'm sorry." I buried my head into his chest, along with my hopes of Arabella ever coming back.
"It's not your fault." He looked away from me. I grabbed his chin and faced it towards me. "Hey, none of this is because of you. You know that right?" He nodded and we got into his truck and we sat in silence until he pulled into my driveway.
"Get your stuff for school tomorrow, and an extra pair of clothes." He told me.
"Why? Do you want me to spend the night at your house?" He nodded. "I mean yeah sure let me tell my parents but why?"
"I've got some things I need to tell you." He looked at me with his chocolate brown eyes, I saw fear and anger. "Important things, that have to do with Arabella."
