"Are we, you know, over?" She asked.
"I'm not sure, are we? You seemed pretty mad." I answered.
"Did you expect me to be happy?"
"Not really, look Katie, I really like you"
She cut me off."No, Dustin, you look. You can't manipulate and sweet talk your way out of this. That's worked too many times. At this point I don't even know why I'm still talking to you. What you did wasn't okay. So to answer your question, yes I do think we're done."
"What I did? Did you forget you're not exactly innocent?" Silence. No response. I figured she had hung up, but I heard sobbing.
"I don't want things to be over, I really don't. But I just." she paused. "I can't do this."
Beep beep beep.
That was that, things were over. But that was okay. Because in this moment, I didn't feel any regret.~
Sunday mornings, ah, the best mornings. That was sarcasm if you couldn't tell. Although it wasn't exactly morning anymore, it was noon. I checked my phone, snapchats from Liam, Alice, Olivia, Megan, Savannah, Sophie, Arabella, Isabelle, Crimson, and Amber. Jesus christ what did I do to all of a sudden become so popular. I opened one after another, they were all the same. 'What happened last night?' So I responded to all of them with, 'long story'. I rolled out of bed, put on my grey sweatpants and a batman t shirt and grabbed my keys and wallet and headed to Arabella's.
I opened the door and walked into Arabella's room, she was alone, that's new.
"Where's Jake?""What do you mean?"
"He's your clingy ass boyfriend I'm surprised he didn't beat me here."
"Dustin not in the mood."
"Aw, why not?"
"You look like shit by the way."
"Hey thanks bitch, what the fuck happened to you?"
"Don't."
"Ooh so something happened."
"Dustin, I said just leave it."
"Got it, I'm picking up lunch, want anything?"
"No I have a date."
"Where's Jake taking you?"
"I'm not going with Jake." She walked past me, barging out to her car. She almost hit me with her chest long brunette hair.
~
I stopped at the gas station, picked up some junk food, and headed home. There wasn't much for me to do. So I spent the rest of the day explaining the Katie story to anyone who asked, and playing whatever video game seemed appealing. Until around 8, Elliot called me. He went on and on about his date with Isabelle and how much he liked her and how happy he was that he got her blah blah blah. He's my friend so I listened. He would do the same for me.
I was receiving another call, from Arabella's mom."Hello?"
"Dustin?"
"Yeah."
"Have you seen Arabella today?"
"I saw her at like noon, why?"
"I haven't seen her at all."
"I'm sure she's just someplace with Jake."
"Yeah, okay well if you hear anything from her please tell me."
"Will do."
"Thanks. Bye." She hung up.
Now I was worried, Arabella was going on a date, with someone who wasn't Jake, and has been gone all day. Something doesn't add up. So I called Jake.He didn't answer.
So I called her best friends, Madison and Zoe.
They answered, but neither of them had information on Jake or Arabella. I thought to myself. This is getting weird.
Who do you turn to for this? I can't ask the police. They'll conduct a search or a wild goose chase. I can't be the one to make the big deal. She can't just disappear like that without a reason. Unless there was a reason. I didn't know what to do. So I called Elliot, explained the situation, and freaked out even more. Arabella and Jake were gone. Madison and Zoe knew nothing, neither did Arabella's parents. So I decided that I would do something about it.So I went after her.
I picked up Elliot and Isabelle, as well as Madison and Zoe. The five of us went on an expedition for Arabella and Jake."Does anyone know where they could have went?" Isabelle asked nervously.
Madison, who was obviously in denial about the situation answered her, "They probably just went downtown and got caught in traffic that's all."
"Madison nobody's stuck in traffic for 8 hours." Zoe demanded, she spoke with a forceful tone, but you could hear the fear in her voice.
"Listen to me, all of you." I stated. Everyone stared. "Arabella said she was going on a date, with someone that wasn't Jake." All 4 of them gasped. "Hold your reactions, thats only the tip of the iceberg."
"How could it get worse than that?" Madison choked.
"I didn't tell Jake, and if he's disappeared just like Arabella."
"That means we aren't the first ones to try to find Arabella." Elliot interjected.
"I think Arabella might have told him, that she was going with someone else."
"Arabella's lying." Isabelle cut me off.
"What?" Everyone in the car responded.
"Just which one of us is she lying to? You or Jake?"
I understood what she meant, we all underestimated Arabella. She was capable of everything I was, manipulative, conniving, and most importantly, lying and getting away with it. She just never did, was this Arabella's way of playing a game? Was she doing this to mess with us? Because she was bored? Not because she was actually in trouble, she knew we'd be the ones to chase her down. Was she doing this to get back at us for something?
Because if I were her. After what happened. I would've.

Authors note-
Sorry this is boring I'm not really sure what to do to make it more interesting.
There's a lot of characters. Most of them are just Dustin's friends. But a lot of them still have a role to play.
