We just got home from taking Ainsley home and were already bombarded with visitors. My mom had flown out from my home state to meet them and Niall’s parents were in from Ireland. We had so many people over that I was beginning to become overwhelmed. On top of both sets of parents, we also had the other 4 boys and their wives. I was trying not to let it show that I was overwhelmed but that was getting difficult. I got up and walked into the bathroom and started crying. I was in there alone for about 10 minutes before I was interrupted. The door opened and I cursed at myself for not locking the door. Niall and Vanessa walked in and Niall immediately engulfed me in a hug. “What’s wrong princess?” He asked me with concern obvious in his voice. “There are too many people here and it’s all too overwhelming.” I said sadly. “It’s okay bean. We’ll all leave soon. It’s getting late.” Vanessa reassured. “Sorry I just kind of got up and walked away. I really appreciate everyone coming to see Ainsley; it’s just there were too many people surrounding us that I got really overwhelmed.” I gave Niall a kiss and got up to hug Nessa. The three of us walked out of the bathroom and went back to the living room. I took my spot back on the couch and got Ainsley back from Louis. I told them that it was getting late and that we wanted to get into our pajamas and prepare for our first night with Ainsley. Both my mom and Niall’s mom were staying with us to help. “Since there’s only one baby, Niall and I would like to try and do it on our own tonight if that’s alright with you guys?” I said to our moms. “Sure! You know where our rooms are if you need us.” Niall’s mom replied. I had to admit I was a bit anxious. I had never done this before. We put Ainsley into her pajamas after going into our room. Niall watched in amazement as I fed our baby girl. I finally understood why women say that breastfeeding your baby is an amazing bonding experience because it really is. I felt bad because Niall couldn’t feed her but he promised to change the diapers. I finished feeding Ainsley and handed her off to Niall to be burped and changed. I was extremely exhausted and wanted to sleep. Niall put her in her bassinet on his side of the bed and pulled me close to him and began running his fingers through my hair. I slowly fell asleep and I could tell he did too because it got darker in the room and his fingers stopped going through my hair. It was about 2:30 in the morning when Ainsley woke us up the first time. Niall immediately woke up and picked her up before gently shaking me awake. “Wake up princess. Ainsley is quite hungry.” I groaned and sat up. Niall handed her to me and I began to feed her. I was still half asleep but Niall woke me up a little by kissing me gently. I opened my eyes to see my husband’s perfect blue eyes looking into my identical blue eyes. “Sorry babe, I’m really tired.” I told him while my eyes started to close again. He laughed and tried keeping me awake by talking to me. When I felt that Ainsley had finished, I switched her to the other side and she continued eating. Niall just watched his two gorgeous girls interact with each other. “I can’t wait to bring the other three home babe.” He said with a smile. “I can’t wait either Ni. We’re definitely going to need our moms help once they come home.” Ainsley finally finished eating and I handed her off to Niall to be burped. “Didn’t her neonatal nurse want her to be supplemented with her preemie formula too, to make sure she’s gaining weight?” I asked not sure. “I think so baby. I’ll go get one of the bottles and heat it up. I’ll feed her honey. Get some sleep.” He was so caring and amazing. I layed back down in our bed, while Niall took Ainsley with him to get the supplement bottle. I immediately fell back asleep while Niall fed our baby girl. When she finished her supplement bottle, he changed her diaper and put her back into the bassinet.
