It was finally the day I had been so anxious about. Delivery Day. Niall and I had to be at the hospital at 6:30 am for my 9 am surgery. I had barely slept last night because I was so nervous. Niall slept perfectly fine. He would occasionally wake up and reassure me and it made me feel better. We arrived at the hospital on time and they began all of the preparation for my surgery. I got settled in a room with my hospital gown on. We took a final pregnancy picture to put in each of their baby books. It was 8:30 and my doctor came in for the final prep. She gave Niall his scrubs to put on. Niall and my nurse helped me get into a wheelchair and she grabbed my IV pole and wheeled me into the OR. She showed Niall where he would have to wait until they were ready for him. I hated leaving him. The helped me onto the operating table and administered the numbing medication and layed me down. My arms were spread out so it was like I was a capital T. They put the drapes up and then Niall finally came in. The doctor tested on my stomach to make sure I couldn’t feel anything and I said no. He began the surgery and after about 10 minutes, the room was filled with cries. “It’s a Girl!” My doctor announced. Niall peeked over the curtain and took a picture of her. The surgeon handed her over to the neonatal team and they began to clean her off. A minute later we heard “It’s a Boy!” I was so excited. I hadn’t even seen them yet and I was already sobbing. Niall took a picture of him as well. Once again we heard “It’s another boy!” Niall said he looked smaller than the first two. And finally it was “It’s a Girl! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Horan!” He finished up my surgery and my babies were shown to me one by one in their incubators. They all had hats on with their birth order letter. Niall came over to me and we were both crying. I was brought into recovery a short while later.
