Darkness. That was all she could see. The ambience of the bridge was something Enterprise was familiar with, but this time, something was off about the ambience. It was quiet. As if nobody were on the bridge at the moment. No conversations, no reports on their current status, nothing.
Enterprise opened her eyes Nad she found herself laying down infront of the captain's chair. Wait a moment, laying? And why does the floor feel cold? Wait what. Sure she has traveled through the vast, cold darkness of space but she hasn't necessarily "felt" cold. She sat up and looked around the bridge and found out why it was so quiet. Nobody, not even captain Kirk, as on the bridge.
"Strange" She thought. Of course it was strange because who would leave a fully intact Constitution-class just floating in space? She thought that they may have been asleep and were resisting in their quarters so she headed there. She entered the elevator and rode it to where the quarters were usually situated. The first room she visited was, of course, Kirk's room because, well, he's the captain of the ship. She rang the buzzer to tell Kirk he had a visitor. 10 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute passed by and still no answer. Strange.
What was stranger was the fact that the door itself was already open. She opened the door only to find the room empty. She tried the same with Spock's quarters. The same result. She tried Sulu, Chekov, Bones, Uhura, even Scotty and all the same. No answer. By this point she was starting to panic. Her crew had disappeared and here she was in a physical form.
She slapped her cheeks and took deep breaths to calm down, for it was an emergency and the worst thing someone could do was panic. She decided that she would head back up to the bridge to figure out what exactly had happened. Once there, she sat herself down in the captain's chair.
"Huh, kinda comfy. No wonder he loved this chair" She said. She remembered Kirk always saying how comfortable the chair was and now she could agree with him. But now was not the time to reminisce, for she had to figure out where she was. She thought to get the screen to put up a visual but before she could press the necessary buttons to activate the display, it activated seemingly by itself. When Enterprise saw what was on the display, her feeling surprised would be an understatement. The display showed that she was currently orbiting around Earth. What was she doing here? When she entered warp she was in the frontier regions. But there was a possible silver lining to this, and that was that she could possibly contact starfleet. As soon as she thought of using comms though, the familiar whistle of the comms activating could be heard. Now that was not a coincidence. Being the scientific woman, or ship, she is, Enterprise thought of a small experiment.
"Engines, quarter impulse" She said, and conforming her suspicions, her ship moved forward at quarter impulse. This confirmed the fact that she, in fact, was controlling she ship itself. Moreover, it was almost as if she was one with the ship as she could feel her engines come online as well as sense her surrounding which would usually fall to her sensors. And as for the comms, she could hear nothing but static on the usual Starfleet channels. Testing her new ability, she mentally switched through the channels and static was found as well. This raised further suspicions. She scanned Earth using her sensors to see if she could find starfleet signatures. What she had feared was correct, there were no star fleet signatures. But then she picked up something else. Humanity still existed but it would seem as though tier level of technology was matching that of the late 1930's and early 1940's.
"What the.... no that can't be. I couldn't have possibly traveled back in time. But then again, that Romulan ship was able to do that as well but only by a couple decades at least. I've traveled back even farther, no wonder there's no starfleet!" Enterprise concluded. She could try to go planet-side, but that would violate the Prime Directive.
"Hmm..... hey what's the worst that can happen? I've violated it before to save Spok and the fact that Starfleet doesn't exist yet. All I gotta do is not mention it in the logs. Now then all I gotta do is steer the ship and- uh oh"
