Preview: The Little Sunflower just finished digesting the information from the memory when something appeared in its perception again. As it was still sensitive after consuming a large amount of souls and information, it strangely thought that it was food!
Roots moved almost immediately as they emerged from underground. The unexpected attack caught the hound off guard as it was quickly engulfed and drowned by this tentacle tide.
It was just contemplating the plan on bringing this creature to its master with an injured body when the ground beneath collapsed.
The hound let out a whimper as its wounds were entangled by the roots before tightening. Blood oozed out from the wound as the pain coursed through his body. He was immediately startled awake and howled at the sunflower.
What?! What happened?!?
Confusion filled its mind as it couldn't understand how things could go so wrong. The roots continued to creep up its figure as they gradually reached his neck and strangled him to death.
The entire battle took less than the time spent eating a noodle as the Little Sunflower was very satisfied with this new food. It seemed to be different from the worms it had just devoured and was stronger with the amount of resistance it released before dying.
Some roots were torn apart from the wiggling and resistance of the captive but alas, it was futile. It became nothing more than fertilizer for the demonic sunflower.
The roots quickly moved and pierced the corpse as high-level nutrients were absorbed and strengthened the sunflower. The taste was also exquisite, just like a fine wine with a tinge of burning feeling in the throat.
Aaah, how delish!! This thing is so delicious! I wish I could eat more of them!
The Little Sunflower thought so while the roots completely turned the poor hound into a sieve. Just a few moments later, the hound turned into nothing but a dried husk and slid off the roots. It fell to the ground with a low thud, not even causing a ruckus as it just collapsed entirely.
. . .
Winds howled shrilly as they passed through the endless canyon. The canyon here had many holes representing caves, and inside, lived hounds of different ranks.
In one of the caves, a loud booming sound traveled outside as the master of the canyon opened his bloodshot eyes in rage.
Clenching his fist, he threw a punch at the wall of the cave, causing dust to rise and shake the canyon he was located. Immediately after, a loud shout bellowed from him,
"WHO DARES TO KILL THE HOUND I SENT TO SCOUT!?"
His voice was filled with rage and killing intent. He had just been injured due to the riot that happened earlier, and now the hound he sent above to scout had died. He needed to know which preposterous bastard dared to offend him, Valmor the Hound Trainer.
Being a famous Mid-Rank demon in Hell, his reputation and pride was at stake. He was someone who was on the verge of descending. His power could be said to be at the ceiling of the strata and his unique magic, Evil Tame, was unique and strange.
He had grown up trampling on others, and today he finally tasted humiliation. It would have been better if it was due to a rivaling Mid-Rank demon, but it just had to be done by a Low-Rank piece of trash! How could he not be angry?
He immediately sent out a signal to one of his closest aides and ordered one of the Mid-Rank demons under him, the Shadow Hound.
Although a bit of an overkill, he prefers doing things this way with his experience and long life. And he trusted the Shadow Hound quite a bit due to its ability and way of doing things.
"Don't worry master, I'll definitely make the bastard who slayed our brethren pay." The Shadow Hound's voice echoed from the darkness in the shadows as the surrounding hounds hiding in the other caves trembled.
The shadows stirred for a moment before returning back to normal.
Unknowingly, a huge danger was coming for the sunflower due to its impulsive actions today.
. . .
At the same time as this was happening, the Little Sunflower was happily dancing on the dark and moist swampy lands like a kid receiving their first school allowance.
The Little Sunflower found the "nutrients" of the Fiery Hound delicious so it began to have thoughts of encroaching upon the land beyond the Muddy Swamp Region. But remembering the memories it obtained through the worms, it began to have second thoughts and wondered if it should try its best to become stronger first.
The sunflower knew that its current strength wasn't enough to explore the dangerous place and the limited information made it hesitate. Without many options, it could only retreat and try to strengthen itself first.Roots surged towards the nearby swampy area as more weak underground creatures were slain. They did not even manage to find out why and how they died as they were sucked dry.
A happy aura bursted out from the Sunflower as it brought its body around the place with its roots.
