Preview: "Ahh, how delicious! I wonder what a Mid-Rank demon like the Shadow Hound would taste like?" it muttered out loud as the desire to have a taste filled it with excitement and craving. Just these Low-Ranked ones taste so good, what about the one with better quality?!

A low thud echoed as a large paw stepped out from the shadows in the darkness. "Heh, you want to know how I taste? Then come." Threatening words came out from the figure enshrouded in pitch-black darkness. An absurd amount of dark energy emanated from its body as it formed a formless pressure that descended on the duo.

The terrifying killing intent and pressure locked on the two as Pendra inwardly cried. AAAAAHH! MASTERR! IT'S OVER! YOU PROVOKED A MID-RANK DEMON! IT'S OVER! WERE ALL GOING TO DIE!! WERE GONNA DIEE! 😭

The roots that were stationary and lingering around the corpses paused as though sensing a horrifying opponent before continuing their actions.

"Hoh? How bold." It spoke casually but one could sense the hidden threat and anger bubbling from its tone. The Shadow Hound fully revealed its body as it dragged itself out of the shadows.

It was humongous and towered over the two. Just its size that reached that of a house already outmatched the two, but what's more terrifying is the mana fluctuations emanating from the other party. It means its magic circuit had been fully awakened and attuned with an element, the Shadow element! It could use magic to fight its enemies and this battle could no longer be described as one, but a massacre like what happened earlier.

Just the little bit of usage of the holy light already overpowered the Low-Rank demons much stronger than it was, much more the Shadow Hound that is proficient in it.

The shadows that existed all over the place faintly distorted and flickered for a moment before stabilizing. The sunflower felt it but did not know what exactly had happened. It could only keep quiet and stay observant.

"Heh, what now? Why are you not moving? Or are you too scared to move?!" pitch-black spears suddenly appeared in the side of the sunflower as it tore through the air like a missile and locked onto the sunflower.

Pendra was crazy nervous and his mind was filled with all kinds of ways they might die as disappointed filled it. Did I choose the wrong master? Or is this place just that cruel?

Demons naturally follow the strong so it did not feel anything wrong with its decision, but now, it started doubting everything as memories of its life flashed past him.

"Hmph. You think I'm scared of you?" The sunflower replied angrily in a childish voice as it dodged to the side to prevent the dark spear from piercing it when the shadow below it suddenly bubbled and materialized into a spike that stabbed it from behind.

Green blood splattered and Pendra shouted anxiously "Master! Are you alright?!" worry was written all over its face as it did not know how to live without its master. It would most likely go down with its master today.

"Hmph, where's your arrogance now?" The Shadow Hound stood towering with Hell as the background, making it look like the God of Death overseeing the duo's fate and bringing judgement. It sneered at the sunflower being beaten back after only two moves of it as it continued laying traps and preparing magic. Being able to use magic was really too overpowered against those who couldn't

Fwoosh. A white root streaked past as it rushed towards the Shadow Hound. Unfortunately, the sunflower also knew how to use magic, albeit in this very crude and primitive method. Thus, it forced the Shadow Hound back and managed to gain a brief moment of rest for itself as the light from the root that shot out just now slightly dimmed.

What happened? The sunflower felt nervous as it never had a fight like this before. Ones that use magic were simply too high-end and thus it had no prior experience.

"Hmph, you must be confused about what happened. But I don't bother explaining to dead objects." The Shadow Hound scoffed at the sunflower and felt that things were already set in stone. It was destined to be a one-sided fight with the other side merely borrowing the power it had absorbed from an external object, while he was using an energy he personally cultivated and practiced for years.

The sunflower was confused as attacks came flying at it from weird angles. Shadow spears form out of nowhere and try to pierce its sides then the shadows all around suddenly solidify and strike it. Sometimes, some shadow spears are merely illusions or diversions as the Shadow Hounds personally entered the battlefield.

"Hmph, be honored for you shall die under my hands today!" Declared the Shadow Hound boldly. Black viscous substance flowed through its claws as it dived into a shadow. The surroundings felt cold as the sunflower and centipede felt a chill. The chilling sensation that comes from the threat of death.

The sunflower had no choice but to wildly swing its roots wrapped in pure white holy light as rocks flew through the air aimlessly and crashed into boulders, shattering them and causing more destruction or piercing some unlucky demons.

The terrain directly changed from the battle. Just the missed shadow spears or roots swung by the sunflower destroyed a large part of the battlefield. Fortunately, they were fighting in a wide and open space as not much ecological damage was done to the scenic spots.

Ruby-red likes silently emerged from the shadow behind the sunflower as it stared at the prey ahead. Its figure gradually emerged and swam out from the darkness as its footsteps became as light as feathers and its feet became covered with a shadow-like substance.

It got close to the sunflower wreaking havoc in the distance and raised its dark yet glimmering obsidian-like claw.
