Azurine
Everyone cheered, genuinely happy to have a female soldier finally joining, however some had doubt she would be any good for them. Ghost chuckled deviously, his hands placed on his waist like he'd won the whole act he had made between himself and Azurine. Except he hadn't. Azurine had her own secrets and plans.
She didn't know when to push those plans but it would be soon. Just a little more information and she could leave.
She had their approximate location and the main names of the soldiers who would likely be on the front lines if anything did occur. Azurine could make them pay for trying to make her join forces, try to make her betray everyone. Even herself.Truthfully though, if she really did hate Ghost, she would have left by now and wouldn't make a second thought on staying longer. Something caused her to stay. Was it the way Price was so gentle but firm with the way he spoke, much different from how her own captain treated soldiers. Or was it those eyes. The dead, grey eyes that watched over her like an overprotective mother of her son. Except they were closer in age than she had expected.
Clap! Clap! Soap brought her out of a simple trance, clapping to award the new recruit. Of course, he was clueless of anything else but that. "Anyone hungry?" Price walked in, breathing airily with the same soft smile.
Everyone nodded, including herself as much as she refused, but after not eating for a few days, a simple meal wouldn't hurt. Who would refuse a free tray of food. Others would have been suspicious, but it would be too obvious if someone tried to poison one another.
However her plan didn't involve chaos and murder. Just escape. Her plan was to eat half the meal before asking to go bathroom. She could then escape out of a window or open exit. Couldn't be too hard, could it?
Soon after, the smell of bacon and beef cooking on the grill and the sizzling of the fat and oil crackling on the stove filled the common room. Price seemed like he took care in cooking for his people. So careful. Wouldn't want to fuck up, would he? Price called everyone over with everything laid out for the bacon and beef burgers. Fillings and sauces scattered the kitchen bench; tomatoes, lettuce, aioli and a shit ton more. Everything you could want was there. It almost made her forget this wasn't her team. Almost.
Was this Ghost's plan?
To make her forget her identity slowly through 'innocent' actions made by his fellow soldiers. Price might not have known it, but whatever he was doing right now only made Ghost's plan all the more easier. Ghost made this painfully obvious towards her each time he laughed directly at her.
"Well?" Ghost grunted, shoving a paper plate into her hands before grabbing handfuls of whatever he wanted, even the buns of the burger had light indents from him picking them up so messily. "What do ya' think?" Price pleasantly asked Ghost, nudging his shoulder as he scraped off the left over pieces of bacon from the grill. "It's okay, thanks cap'n," Ghost shrugged, casually walking to the benches they all had sat at, Price seemed hurt by his shirt response as he continued to make his own burger.
"Hey, Captain. These look amazing," she suddenly spoke up. Even she didn't know why, Azurine was being...friendly to another without Ghost's deathglare. "I'm glad you think so," he responded with a soft smile, his eyes squinting slightly. He looked a lot happier at least.
Azurine brushed it off, shaking her head rid of what she just managed to say to a foreign captain. She sat down besides Soap, Price closing the other side. She was trapped between two men with two more in front of her.
Ignoring eye contact, she stared down at the freshly cooked meal. Soap decided it would be a good idea to put his legs in a man spread, leaving even littler space for Azurine to exist between them. Alejandro smiled from his position, already digging into his food, laying back in the corner of the wall and chair. Ghost however, didn't touch his meal. That's when Soap leaned over and whispered in her ear, glancing at Ghost.
