Soulmate marks were interesting things. Regulus' was antlers across the back of his shoulders. It was easily forgotten, even more easily hidden. He thought about his soulmate a lot. Someone that was destined to love him. Someone that he wouldn't have to worry about leaving. It sounded amazing, but finding his soulmate, that sounded so tiring.

Sirius' soulmate mark was the phases of the moon across him collar bone. He was very easily able to find his soulmate, Remus, who was a werewolf. Remus had the silhouette of a dog on his waist. Years later, they found that it was because of his animagus form.

Regulus wasn't very hopeful in finding his soulmate. He wanted to be with them obviously, but he didn't think he needed them. He wanted to feel loved, but he had already survived so long without it. So long that any touch made him want to throw up.

He had told Sirius what his mark was, and Sirius said he would help him search. He wasn't sure how he was supposed to find his soulmate, but Sirius just told him they were closer than Regulus thought. He hated that. If Sirius knew something, he should just tell Regulus.

Sirius had been trying to get Regulus to become an animagus for the longest time. Regulus gave in a few months ago, and he's been meditating like Remus had told him to. They already did most the hard work. Today, Regulus needed to attempt to transform into his animagus form. Sirius, Remus, and, unfortunately, James would be there. Sirius and James were there because they were animagus' themselves, and Remus because he has the most active amount of brain cells out of the three of them. Sirius refuses to tell him want James' animagus form is.

Regulus didn't like being around James. He didn't like the way his heart begins beating faster, and his hands become shaky. He's had this stupid crush on James for years. There's no way James is his soulmate, so why won't the crush just go away?

Regulus sat in the forbidden forest staring at the blood-red phial he was going to have to drink. Everyone, including himself, was surprised that he made it this far on his first try. He hoped he will be able to transform tonight. He listened to the thunder as he waited for his friends to join him.

He looked in the direction of quickly approaching footsteps, and he meets eyes with a black dog. He laughs as Padfoot runs up to him. The dog does circles around him before he transformed back into Sirius. His brother sat next to him with a wide smile. "Are you ready?"

Regulus nodded, and he looked back the way Sirius came when more footsteps sounded.

"Fuck you, Sirius, you know I hate running after your ass," Remus yelled. He had a wide smile on his face despite his fast breath. James appeared behind him with a big smile on his face as well.

"He's lying! He just told me the opposite." For that, Remus hits him on the back of the head. Sirius bursts out laughing.

Soon, Remus and James sat down, and Sirius calmed down. Eyes turned to Regulus who took a deep breath. He looked at Remus for confirmation as he picked up the red phial. Remus nodded before something sparked on his face.

"Okay, I know this sounds weird, but you might want to take off your shirt and pants. There's a high possibility that you'll rip your clothes instead of transforming with them." Regulus looked to Sirius for confirmation, ignoring James. He didn't want to think about that right now.

"Ah, yeah, that happened to both me and Jamie our first times, and Remus had to transfigure us clothes from some sticks. It was very uncomfortable to say the least," Sirius laughed. He had a red tint to his face. Regulus chuckled thinking about in. His blood ran cold when he realized that he'd had to try transforming in his underwear in front of his brother, his brother's boyfriend, and his own crush. Fuck.

"Fine, fuck you, Sirius." Regulus turned around to slide his clock off, followed by his shirt. He didn't see the way James' eyes expanded at his mark. He didn't see Sirius' quiet laughter at James' reaction. He also didn't see the smirk on Remus' face. He slid off his pants before looking back at the three. There was no hint of that on any of their faces.

Regulus didn't like his body being so uncovered, but he saw Remus' small smile. He grabbed his wand "Amato Animo Animato Animagusm." Then, he quickly downed the phial, ignoring the taste. He felt a burn erupt in his chest followed by an intense second heartbeat. He took a deep breath, and he let the vision of a slim black cat filled his mind. He imagined himself becoming the animal. He didn't know his animagus form was going to be a cat, but there was no going back now.

He felt a weird calm, and when he opened his eyes, he was very close to the ground. He looked up to his brother, and he was practically glowing.

"You did it! You did it, Reg!" Sirius shouted. Regulus wasn't aware of the glare that James received, and the quiet 'Don't react' Sirius whispered when he saw Regulus' form.

"You did it on your first try, Reg, you know how rare that is?" Remus shouted, smiling incredibly wide. Regulus felt a pur squeeze it's way out of him. To which, they immediately melted at.

"You're aborable," Sirius cooed. He showed his hands as he came to pet Regulus.

"It fits so well," Remus commented. Regulus noticed that James has yet to speak up.

Regulus purred from Sirius' pets as he searched for the man. He saw him standing back with a large grin on his face. He looked like he was absently rubbing a hand over his side.

When James noticed his gaze, he walks over and joins in the others cooing. Regulus used his slim figure to his advantage, quickly slipping away. They tried following him, but he quickly slipped up a tree. He silently celebrated his win before he saw Sirius change into Padfoot. Padfoot began climbing the bark of the tree. Regulus quickly jumped down. He sprinted; Padfoot followed closely behind. He let out loud hisses that Padfoot just replied to by barking.

Soon, Regulus couldn't take the running for much longer, and he began running back to the other two. He hoped he could take shelter on Remus' shoulders.

He could hear his heart beating loudly in his ears as he ran to Remus. Remus looked alarmed as Regulus quickly jumped on his shoulders. Padfoot stopped quickly, not daring to jump on Remus. He made a whimpering sound, and Regulus purred loudly, enjoying the new win.

Padfoot changed back to Sirius. Sirius quickly laughed. "Really, Regulus, going to my boyfriend for help. You sneaky bitch."

Sirius gave Remus a quick peck before grabbing Regulus off of his shoulders with a 'Got ya'.

Regulus hissed, wanting to be put down. Sirius granted his wishes. He hissed one more time at Sirius before looking to Remus.

Remus stared back confused for a second before guessing. "Do you wanna transform back now?" At Regulus' nod, he quickly shooed Sirius, who had began laughing with James, and James away. "Okay, you know how to. Your clothes are behind you." Regulus looked behind him, and he spotted his nicely folded uniform.

He imagined transforming back, and he felt another weird shift then his heart was pounding loudly in his ears.

He looked down, and he saw his underwear still perfectly intact. "Sirius, you bitch, I didn't rip my clothes. I didn't have to practically strip in front of you guys, asshole!" Regulus yelled before beginning to put on his clothes. He slipped his pants on when Sirius came walking over.

"Well, I had ripped mine! How was I supposed to know you're some over powered wizard that can do whatever the like first try?" Sirius laughed. Regulus turned to grab his shirt when he felt Sirius' hands on his back, his mark. He flinched before relaxing into Sirius' hands. Safe, he reminded himself. Sirius massaged his shoulder blades. Regulus closed his eyes at the feeling. "I figured out who your soulmate is, Reg," Sirius whispered. Regulus froze. "I think you'll like who it is, little brother." Regulus didn't know if he should trust Sirius' judgment or not.

"Okay, I trust you," Regulus decided. "Who is it?" Before Sirius could answer, James' voice rang out.

"Damn, Reg, I can hardly ever out run Sirius now. How'd you do it so easily?" James laughed out. Regulus felt a small a smile tug his lips. He liked James' voice.

"It's him," Sirius whispered.
