The last three days for Kayla had been torture. She had enough of Klaus and just wanted to go home. But then it would be going against their deal and Kayla never broke her promises even if it meant she was killed.

They were currently in the Appalachian mountains looking for werewolves to turn. Kayla was sat on a fallen down tree; her feet ached and she desperatley needed a rest.

"Don't look so glum sweetheart" called Klaus leaning against a tree. She shot him an icy glare bored of his snarky comments every chance he had to make them.

"You're not funny" she snapped. Along with her aching body, she was tired.

Kayla hadn't had a proper sleep in days. Klaus thought she was fine dozing in the car not wanting to slow his mission of hybrids down for one night in a motel.

"We need to get going" said Klaus. Kayka internally groaned as that would mean getting up again. "with you stopping every 20 minutes we will never get to the pack".

"Maybe you should let me have a proper rest, in a bed" snapped Kayla again. "Not all of us are immortal jerks".

"Ouch" said Klaus pressing his hand against his chest. " aftet we get to this pack. I will take you to a motel and you can sleep to your hearts content"

"Fine" grumbled Kayla getting up and followed after Klaus up the mountain.

After an hour of walking they finally reached the campsite where the pack was. People were freely roaming around the site, laughing; happy.

Kayla falt sorry for them as soon their happiness would turn into misery. She walked next to Klaus as they approached the camp.

"Hello" called Klaus. Everyones head jolted up and in their direction. Their piercing stares made Kayla feel uncomfortable so she stood closer to klaus; feeling his warm body pressing into her. She felt her cheeks burn.

"Who the hell are you?" Shouted one if them after the moments silence.

"I'm Klaus. The hybrid" said Klaus. He sped forward and turned each wolf, one by one.

Kayla sat on one of the logs by the fire that was dying down. She sighed. Elena would be worried to death by now. She had sent Elena a brief text saying;

" out of town with Klaus. I'll be fine"

She had then thrown her phone away so they couldn't track her. She was safe with Klaus? Kayla knew there was something about him that drew her in but she wanted to repel it for as long as possible.

"Done, sweetheart" said Klaus, wiping his mouth. He sat next to Kayla and they sat in a comfortable silence.

"Why do you have to turn hybrids?" Asked Kayla breaking the silence.

"So i can build an army" replied Klaus.

"Build an army so big, no one dares pick a fight" mumbled Kayla, distantly. Klaus nodded. She looked back at the hybrid. " what about your family?".

"They are in coffins" said Klaus," i plan to reunite them soon".

"So your hybrids are like a back up family?" Questioned Kayla. Her blue eyes were deep with something Klaus couldn't describe.

"No" he said, shortly. "But there's you and your family".

"What about my family?" Asked Kayla.

"You're something supernatural yet you claim to be apart of the Gilbert family" said Klaus. He looked over to her again with a smirk on his face.

"Im not really a Gilbert" admitted Kayla," i was adopted".

Kayla looked away from him. She didnt want to recall those memories. Of her parents. He softly touched her chin and made her face him. The girl had tears in her eyes but she shook them away.
