Channing never would've thought about the dead rising just to eat the living. It all seemed made up. Like something out of a book or something. But it wasn't. It was reality, had been for the past six weeks now.

Most people at the camp the Dixons were staying at were scared, Channing understood why. They were all weak. If her grandpa was still alive he'd probably call them a bunch of pussies. Merle has, but Merle was different than Will in a lot of ways.

It was around seven in the morning when Channing decided to crawl out of her thet. She slipped on her brown combat boots as her eyes wandered around camp. Not many people were up yet. Only Dale Horvath, Officer Shane Walsh and Amy Harrison, and well of course the group that just left to go into Atlanta. Which included both her dad and Liam.

Channing yawned and headed towards her uncles' tent. The two men were already awake. Probably getting ready to go hunting.

"Morning CD." Maddox greeted, looking away from his hunting knife he was sharpening.

"Mornin'." Channing smiled a little. Maddox and Daryl were two of her favorite people.

Daryl practically raised her and Liam since Merle was always in and out of jail. Maddox helped some what until he was arrested four years ago. He was in prison for a while, he actually just got out seven months ago.

"How long y'all gonna be gone for?" She asked, titling her head.

"Day... Day 'n half." Daryl mumbled with a shrug. He looked up from messing with one of his bolts. "Ya wann come?" He asked even though he already knew the answer.

Channing quickly nodded. "Hell yeah, I wanna come." She looked at both of her uncles full of excitement.

Maddox sighed and nodded his head. "'Aight, fine by me." He told her.

Daryl shrugged. "Go get yer bag. We'll head out in a bit."

The smile on Channing's face grew and she quickly ran off, back to her tent to get her backpack.

"Jus' 'cause you spot 'em faster." Daryl scoffed. The middle Dixon brother had always hated losing, especially to his teenaged niece, especially when he wasn't even letting her win. It was cute when she was younger and he'd let her win but now that she could win all by herself, Daryl was a little salty.

Channing shrugged as she tied the squirrel to her beltloop with the other five. "I'm just better, Uncle Dare." She said with a smug smile.

Maddox chuckled, shaking his head. "Careful, Chan. You know yer uncle is a sore loser."

"We got a few hours 'fore sundown. He's still got some time... To lose." Channing laughed to herself.

Daryl rolled his eyes. "Whatever." He grumbled, walking further ahead of the two, leaving them to silently laugh about how childish he was acting.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐍𝐄𝐗𝐓 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆, Daryl, Maddox and Channing were tracking a deer. The whole morning something had been on Maddox's mind. Actually it had been a distant thought for about three weeks now. "It's a half-ass plan." He suddenly spoke, breaking the silence.
