Dear Mom. Sincerely, Chi-Hon. CHAPTER ONE.
"Congratulations, Mrs. Park. It's a girl."
I heard unrecognisable voices around, heard the clanging of metals, saw the bright light, and felt the cold air.
I cried out loud as the warmth left my body, and the hands wrapped around my small body felt wrinkly and odd. These hands placed me on a soft blanket and wrapped me gently. They picked me up and brought me somewhere, and that's where I first saw her.
The first face I saw the moment I was born was the loving, exhausted face of my mother, filled with sweat and tears as she let out her last breath of relief as she held me in her arms as she heard my cries. The very moment I was silent was when I felt the warm love of my mother, and she lovingly called me "Chi-Hon".
I fell right back to sleep......Another face I saw is unfamiliar, yet his voice is as sweet as day, a voice I recognize. A man with a somewhat chisel jawline, thin brown eyes, and black hair covering most of his forehead This man is my father.
"Good morning, Chi-hon." I heard him say my name. It was warm and sweet. I let out a sound of joy as he comforted me in his arms.
"She likes you, honey." I heard the voice of my mother. The once-loving, exhausted face became the face of a young beauty with her black hair tied in a low ponytail, leaving strands of hair on her forehead; her eyes, which were once exhausted, became eyes filled with light; and her skin shows the colours of life in her. So she is my mother.
I was cradled in my father's arm. I knew how safe and loved I was. I continued to sleep until the following day, when my mother was fully discharged from the hospital.
I opened my eyes to the new world before me. The first time I saw the sky, the blue sky, I felt the warm breeze that felt cool to the skin.
In the arms of my mother, who was in the wheelchair, I was brought towards a light blue sedan, where my father went out of his way to gently escort my mother inside the car. When my mother was now brought inside, she gently placed me in the baby chair, where she accompanied me in the back seat.
My father was now inside; he started the engine, and we went back to my new home. After an hour, we arrived. The house is just a simple, humble home; it may be gloomy at first glance, but it is still warm on the inside. The home seems so bright considering the fact that the sun blazed through the window.
"Welcome home, Chi-hon." Both exclaimed happily as my mother gently rocked me in her arms with a huge smile on both of their faces. I can't seem to stop laughing at their smile since they feel ticklish to me.
"Awwwhhhh, she's so beautiful, honey." My father exclaimed, finished putting down the bags, and went straight to my mother and me.
"She is," my mother responded.
"She has your eyes," my mother noted.
"But she looks more like you," my father said.
Other than cleaning up the house, while I was laying on the baby bed, they spent most of their time staring at me. They must have been staring at me most when I was sleeping.
Night came. My mother was feeding me her breast milk as she sang lullabies for me, and my father was preparing the necessities for my mother and me. I don't know why, though.
Sleep came over me, and I slept throughout the night until...
*grummmmmmblee*
I began to feel hungry. I felt so empty that I cried so loudly that it startled my mother, who immediately carried me in her arms and fed me breast milk. This goes on three more times.
If you're wondering where I sleep, I slept next to my parents' master bed, where they placed the crib, so that they could easily care for me when I needed it.
Morning came.
My mother, who was still sleepy because of my loud cries at night, begged to be fed. My father decided to take over and feed me the breast milk, which my mother prepared beforehand so that my mother could rest for the time being.
The morning is kind to me but never kind to my parents, who were suffering. I could somehow see black marks in my father's eyes as he fed me. After a few hours, my mother woke up and took care of me while my father prepared to go to work.
I practically live in my mother's arms, knowing that her warmth is my only comfort, and if she ever leaves me, it will be the end of the world for me.
*cries*
"There there, my child. Mommy is here," my mother assured me as she returned and brought me once more into her arms as she fed me her breastmilk.
Mmhh mmhh delicious milk
Then I heard a soft lullaby. I looked at my mother and saw that she was humming. I remember this hum. She kept humming this soft lullaby when I was in her womb. It always makes me kick, and that brings joy to my parents.
This continued for minutes as I felt sleepy. After finishing my meal, my mother brought me on her shoulder. I could feel my mother's soft pat on my back, then a small burp came out of my mouth.
"My little one is so healthy," she said, then she returned to cradling me in her arms. Her soft pat on my bosom caused me to sleep and fall into dreamland filled with my mother's loving lullaby.
"O sweet child in my arms
Let the lullaby lull you to sleep.
My sweet mom will never leave.
The precious jewel will be forever loved."
The lullaby continues on, although I could feel my mother laying me down in my cradle. I could still remember the warm lullaby and the sunny presence that filled up the room.
I'm glad that I'm born...
