My name is Kanaya Maryam. I am a 15 year old girl. I have short hair that I like to style upwards at the ends of it. My hair is a dark red color that almost looks brown. I have big eyes that were a jade green color. I have a tall and thin body and I also have brown skin.

I live in a pretty big house with my mother who adopted me when I was just a baby. Apparently my real mother died a while after I was born. She was murdered by a man I can't remember the name of. No one could figure out who my father was so I was sent to adoption. My adopted mother is a very kind person, she is the only one who has ever really understood me, well, except for my friend, Rose Lalonde.

Rose was a girl that was my age. She had platinum blonde hair that usually had a black headband in it. Her hair was pixie cut and her bangs went down almost reaching her light purple eyes. She always wore black lipstick, people considered her goth for it but I honestly thought it made her look more sophisticated than goth. She was also a bit taller than I was and was thin but not as thin as me. She had pale skin which made her black lipstick pop. I knew Rose ever since we were 13 years old, we had been best friends since then, but honestly I want to start taking it to a knew level.

I started liking Rose last year, when we were 14 years old. I realized that I loved her after seeing how truly kind, smart, and beautiful she was. I have always wanted to tell her how I felt but since we are both girls I fear that she won't feel the same. I also fear that if that was the case, and I did tell her how I felt, then things would probably never be the same between us. I never want that to happen, she is too precious to me.

Speaking of Rose, I was going to go to her house. Her house was located in the woods which were not far from my house. Rose lived with her mother in a mansion.

I scattered around my room trying to find the things I needed. My room was honestly quite messy so it was hard to find things in my room. I found a satchel on my desk and I picked it up. I put my phone, pajamas, extra clothes, and a brush in the satchel. We were planning on spending the night at her house, which is apparently called a 'sleepover.' We do this often, usually during the weekends or during breaks from school. Our school went on winter break just yesterday so now we have 3 more weeks until break ends. I grabbed my dark green coat, which was hanging off a door, and a pair of black gloves, which were lying on my desk. I quickly put the coat on over my black long-sleeved shirt and then pulled my gloves onto my hands.

I ran downstairs and saw my mom in the kitchen cooking lunch. She turned around when she saw me from the corner of her eye and said, "Oh, are you leaving already?"
I grabbed the strap from my satchel with both hands and said back, "Yes. I Will See You Again Tomorrow."
"Well okay, my dear. Be careful, and call me when you finally get to her house."
"I Will.", I promised my mother. I walked over to the door where my black knee-high boots were. I slipped them on over my ruby red skinny jeans and opened the door. "Goodbye, Mother. I Will See You Tomorrow." I called out to my mom.
"Goodbye.", she said back.

I went out the door and saw that the ground was covered in snow. I walked over to the road that was in front of my house and began to walk beside it. I took my phone out of my satchel and called Rose. I waited as the phone rang. Rose then picked up her phone and answered, "Hey, Kanaya. Are you on your way?"
"Yes," I began, "I Just Left My House And I'll Be There In About 20 Minutes."
"Okay, well I'll see you until then."
"You too." We both said our goodbyes and hung up. I put my phone back in the satchel and looked up.

I was about halfway to reaching the woods. I walked as I heard the snow crunch beneath my feet. I looked up and saw dark grey clouds floating above me. I figured that it might snow again soon and looked back in front of me again. I was getting closer and closer to the woods. I saw my breathe because of the cold and kept on looking at it every time I exhaled. It was fun to look at for some reason. A car passed by me, heading towards the woods, it was kind of strange because not many cars passed by this area, but oh well. I watched as the car disappeared into the woods. I looked at the ground and saw my that my shoes were almost completely covered in snow. I looked up and saw that I was right in front of the woods where Rose lived. I continued my walk, making a couple of turns here and there.
