It was still cold and for some reason, Tyler's body filet worse than before. He woke up, in a different room, a different ward with a bunch of nurses hovering over him. One of them had a clipboard, studying him and writing things down whereas another was sorting out filing and tubes. Tyler blinked and watched both nurses curiously.
"May i ask you a question, Tyler?" The nurse spoke and sat down next to him. Tyler didn't really want to speak, nodding softly at the woman's request, admitting that this felt strange. "Who is Josh and why did you call his name before you passed out?"
Tyler blinked again, his gaze turning to face the soft of the nurses. He turned away again and spoke up. "He's a physician here." He said simply snd then looked at his hands in his lap, noticing how pale he'd gotten and how much they were trembling.
The nurse turned to her colleagues who also had shocked expressions on their faces and shook their heads. The nurse smiled softly, "Tyler... there's no nurse here with that name." She said.
Tyler shook his head, why was he being treated like a kid here? He was being talked to like he was a teenager again, and those days were when shit hit the fan and everything started to go wrong for him. He couldn't and wouldn't let something mess his head again, this was extreme and yet still nobody believed him.
"You don't believe me?" Tyler asked and watched the expression of the nurse change. She looked down and went to speak but Tyler interrupted her. "You think i've just made him up?"
The nurse spoke. "I.. no, Tyler. But you do remember why you're here, don't you? You're schizophrenic." She said and then looked at her clipboard, writing more stuff on the notepad she had attached to it.
Tyler looked away. "Yeah, i know that. I'm not stupid." He said snd then flopped back onto the disgusting excuse of a pillow and then looked up again. "Are you not supposed be there for me, help me? You aren't doing a very damn good job."
The nurse seemed stunned, immediately interrupting. "No, I... Tyler, look. You're not well, and you know that you're not. You shouldn't be imagining some man you've never met. We're trying to ease you away from that, we're trying to make you better!"
Tyler scoffed and let out a quiet laugh. "Bullshit! You're a bullshitter! You aren't helping me when you're denying something so huge- something i'm trying to commune to you."
The nurse didn't know what else to add to her statements and sighed, looking down. "No, never mind. That's all- we don't need ti talk about this anymore." She said snd gestures towards the doctors, "They will escort you to your room again. I'm sorry, we will continue our chat soon, your next session will be at 2pm tomorrow with me."
Before Tyler had a chance to process, she left and let Tyler be lead back to his room snd then left again to his own devices.
"We give them the highest of praise. And hang their banner from a ceiling. Communicating, further engraving... An earlier grave is an optional way, i guess..." Tyler mumbled snd then groaned as he gripped onto his hair.
He laid back on the sorry excuse of a bed snd then looked at the painfully white ceiling.
"Please come back, Josh..."
