Kevin starting breakfast woke me up again the next morning. He tried even harder to be stealthy, but nothing would get past my ears, even if they were deformed.

I tried my best to help him again, following the same routine from yesterday as Maya rushed out the door with her oversized backpack.

While we washed dishes, I asked him, "Do I need these shoes everyone else seems to have?"

He stopped, having completely forgotten I was barefoot when we met. After a moment, he answered, "We should get you a pair. How about we start with some shopping today?"

"Sounds perfect."

Once we finished putting everything away, Kevin left to get ready to leave. I decided to clean myself up a bit too. By now my hair was a tangled mess, getting caught on everything. I entered the bathroom and grabbed a hairbrush. I started yanking on my hair, not sure what else to do with it.

"Do you want help with that?" Kevin asked when he passed the open door. "You don't seem to be used to dealing with all your hair."

I turned to him, feeling pathetic since I couldn't handle my hair on my own. How was I supposed to know how to take care of this mess? My horns were the only things atop my head as a demon.

"Yeah, I need help," I admitted.

He motioned to the couch, so I sat down in front of him. I forced my hair over the top edge of the couch so he could reach it easier. Every time I attempted to move this hair was a full on battle; I could barely control it.

"Did you just want it brushed out?" he asked. "I'm not that used to handling hair this long either, so it might take a while."

"Yeah, it's gotten a little messed up since I keep forgetting about it and getting it caught on literally everything," I explained.

"Alright, I'll try my best."

I had no idea why my human body had such long hair. Even Maya and Kevin's hair combined would be shorter than mine. Now I knew why they kept theirs shorter. This ridiculously long hair was a complete nuisance. I kept sitting on it and slamming it in doors. I even had some stuck in my mouth when I woke up this morning.

Desperate for a way to control it, I sat there patiently as Kevin took his time brushing out my hair. He would occasionally run his fingers through it to make sure all the knots were gone and it took forever to check each strand. He eventually finished, letting out a sigh of relief.

"How did you even get your hair this long? It's like you never cut it."

"I don't even know," I admitted. "I wouldn't have let it get this long willingly. It has been annoying me so much!"

Seeing how annoyed I was, Kevin offered, "Do you want me to try and put it up? I could steal some supplies from Maya."

"Sure, that could help," I agreed.

When Kevin returned from the bathroom, his hands were full of all kinds of random stuff. Where do they keep hiding all this? I wondered. After placing most of it beside me on the couch, Kevin started grabbing different sections of hair. He did this for a while, only stopping after none of it remained loose.

"You done?" I asked.

He started collecting everything off the couch, "Yep, that's as good as it's gonna get. I tried to put it in a bun. It doesn't look perfect, but it should at least stay out of your face for a while."

I followed him back to the bathroom, curious what this bun looked like. To my surprise, the little spiral looked pretty neat and did manage to keep all my hair put together quite nicely.
