" so where the hell are you going" Austin says siting on your bed after Jeremiah called " my hometown" you smile slightly trowing clothes in to a bag " ok and what's happening" he asks being confused " Jeremiah called me about Conrad," you say standing in front of him " I wouldn't care but Jere sounds upset, and it's something about Conrad being missing" you say and he nods " and you're leaving tonight" he asks as you start packing again " yeah, I'll take a bus there" you smile but he shakes his head " no chance, I'll drive" he says confidently Making you laugh " yeah no, we've both been drinking so I'll take the bus and meet Jeremiah when I'm there" you smile making him nod
" fine but call me straight away" he says making you nod, " will do now get out I have to get changed" you say turning you back to him and he nods walking out

" alright, I'm getting a bus to brown, Conrad's University and meeting Jeremiah there" you smile and he nods " I would just like to put it out there that I think this is a horrible idea and I don't understand why you're going" he says as you tie your hair back in to a ponytail " im not doing this for Conrad, im doing it for Jerez they haven't been on the best terms since you know they're mom died so I'll do anything to help and if that's running around the country to find one of them I guess that's what im gonna do" you smile making him nod
" alright I get ya, but call and text. And if you need anything call me and I'll be on my way, don't care where in the country you end up" he smiles making you nod " well I gotta get going stay here in till morning, you can sleep in my room, and I'll text Niki but just explain to her what happened well maybe leave out the part before the phone call"you say making him nod with a small smirk but you just look away " good bye for now, call me when you wake up" you say before leaving and walking to the bus station on campus
You end up getting a bus to a university not far from brown then you'll have to get one from there to brown
You send Niki a text but no reply before cozying up with one of your hoodies laid over you falling asleep
You wake up at the perfect time right before the University you we're getting off at and switching busses,
You change bus and this is when you realise how insane this was, you had only talking to Jeremiah in the past year, not even talking to Conrad at the funeral just a quick Sorry for your loss now you're running to his university looking for him
You shake of the weird feeling about this before pulling up to brown university a place you had often visited for university tours, you call Jere after getting off " I'm here where are you" you say " main building, top floor, room 35" he says making you nod "alright im on my way" you say hanging up
" hey" you say walking in to find Jere, other guy and two girls not getting a good look at anyone before Jere hugs you " thanks for coming, looks like Conrad's gone to cousins" he says making you nod " shit what's up with him" you say as Jere pulls away and you get a look at the other people two being people you never seen before and one being the one person you didn't want to see, belly
" oh hell no," you say walking out here coming behind " wait a sec" here says rushing after you " no I'm leaving, looks like you got all the help you need" you say but he shakes his head " I didn't ask her to come, she came for Conrad" he says making you sigh " so what I got to act all Nicey Nicey on our long trip to cousins" you say making him nod " I called you for help not her, she volunteered and might be some help when we do find Conrad plus this will be good for you guys, maybe get the three of you guys talking" he says making you nod
" fine, but just to put it out there I'm helping you not him" you say making him nod " thanks, now come on we're getting the rest of his things" he says entering the room again " shit so you're the girl he cheated on and you're the girl he cheated with" as you now know Conrad's roommate says "yeah" you say with a sarcastic smile belly just nodding picking up his computer
You guys get down to his jeep and you throw your bag in " let's go" you say getting in the back not really wanting to be in the middle of it all, knowing that they had shit to figure out too
The quietness was almost filling the car making you open the window, they make small chat but it was worse then the silence listening to them talk about the weather, this makes you almost zone out in till Jeremiah mentioned you " hey Leah maybe you try him" he says making you nod " I can but just to let you know, we haven't talking in a year so I say my phone will be the last one he picks up" you smile handing it to them as belly calls it " you'd be surprised" Jere says as it rings but almost immediately goes to voicemail
Belly hands your phone back awkwardly seeing that Austin had sent you maybe 4 chats about your little Adventure
As the car shakes you could almost hear the tire deflating " dammit" Jeremiah says pulling over not wanting to be out on the road
You guys get out of the car all watching as the tire slowly deflates " well shit" you say and they nod, you could tell Jeremiah's pissed off " well we can change it" belly says putting her hair up "with what" Jere asked " A jack and the you spare tire" she says and he nods getting the jack " yeah but put it closer to the tire" Belly's says watching here's every move to make sure he's doing it right " closer" she gets angry " I'm trying" Jere says before trowing the jack after ur not working for him
" great idea belly" here's says after Getting up off the floor " great nod guys" you say sarcastically " it's not my fault" belly says innocently but Jere scoffs " well I'm covered in dirt and if you had let me call Triple-A they would have been here by now" Jere says clearly frustrated
" ok I'm sorry" belly says " thanks ready helpful" Jere says turning to the tire " no not about this,The funeral everything I'm sorry about everything jere" belly say making " wow this is really the time" you say almost laughing that they were going to be arguing at the side of the road " you think i'm mad about the funeral, no I am mad about last summer you were my best friend but then you go out with my brother and everyone thought I was going to be okay about it but I'm not" Jere says ignoring your comment
" Jere you know the last thing in wanted was to hurt you" belly says, and you could tell Jere was getting upset as belly starts talking about his mom
They talk for another minute and hug out all shit they had building as you get the first tire off, " hey guys I'm really glad ye sorted some shit out but I'm just going to let you guys know I've never changed a tire so this might all be wrong you say but they both look it over and belly just tightened a few things " we're good to go" she smiles as you guys get In again and you relax realising the awkwardness was coming form them and now it was gone, thank god
" we're going to stop to get a muffin or something I'm starving" Jere says making you guys nod " do you guy's mind getting me a blue Berry muffin and if there's any fruit there, sorry I just gotta make a call" you say as Jere pulls up " yeah sure" belly's says as they get out and walk away
Calling ........ Austin
" hey" you say getting a quick " hi how's it going" back " good we've stopped for breakfast, turns out belly is here too and we have to go to cousins" you say " shit really, how do you fell about that" he says not gonna lie I'm kinda seeing how dumb this whole thing was, like I don't really wanna see the house, you know" you say making him nod from the other end of the call " yeah I get ya" he says " anyway how you feeling , let's just say you weren't sober last night" you laugh making him nod " yep definitely not, not felling great today but I'll get over it" he says " well anyway I gotta go tell Niki I love her and I'll call both of you later" You say hanging up as Jere and belly come back
" thanks" you say eating your muffin and not long after pulling up to the house
