That night, Knox and Brian sat at a table in a restaurant on their first date. Brian looked at Knox "so tell me how all of you met each other."

Knox laughed "that's a lot of history to get through."

Brian smiled "I've got time."

"Okay." Knox took a sip of his water before speaking. "Vince, Dom, and I grew up together along with Mia my little sister. Letty, she just, she lived down the street. Always into cars, though. Ever since she was, like, ten years old. So, naturally, you know, my brother always had her attention. And then she turned 16.."

Brian knew where that was going "and then she had Dom's attention."

Knox laughed "yeah. you hit it on the nose. Anyway as for Jesse and Leon, they sort of just showed up and then never left." The waitress handed Brian the bill as he continued listening. "My brother has always been that way. Finding strays and pulling things toward him."

"No," Brian shook his head. "The only thing that pulled me in was you. Being friends with your brother is just a bonus."

Knox couldn't help but laugh at that before saying "it's definitely nice to be seen by family as coming before Dom for a change." Brian nodded before Knox sighed "you want to go for a drive?"

Brian nodded and both got into his car but instead of Brian driving like it had been on the way to the restaurant it was Knox who took the chance to show off his skills. Brian sat in the passenger seat stunned as he watched Knox drift like a pro before Knox sped up.

Knox sped toward a light and turned to look at Brian. The two locked eyes and Knox never looked away before coming to a stop at the red light still looking at Brian. Brian smirked recognizing the trick as one he could do as well.

Knox drove them the rest of the way to Brian's place and the two had barely gotten in the door before they were attached everywhere humanly possible with the sexual tension finally reaching boiling point. They kissed like they needed it to breathe and anywhere their hands could reach on each other they did. Clothes were thrown on the floor until both were naked and then they ended up on the bed for a pleasurable night.

The next day, Brian and the cops moved on the Trans while the others were finishing their cars for race wars. Brian watched as Johnny Tran himself was arrested and dragged away.

That night, Brian was sat listening to Bilkins on the phone and thinking about what he had done. When Bilkins got off the phone he spoke to everyone in the room. "The DVD players were purchased legally. All we've got on Tran and company are a couple of low-rent weapons charges... and some outstanding speeding tickets." He looked at Brian "you've got 36 hours to break this case or you can find yourself looking for another job."

Brian stormed outside and stood by the pool. Tanner followed him out "it's Dominic Toretto. It's always been Dominic Toretto. Tran and Hector, they're just fumes. While I know you've been lying to me. Have you been lying to yourself because you can't see past Knox?"

Brian whipped around to face Tanner "he won't go back to prison."

"Well, that's a choice he's going to have to make." Tanner stepped closer. "There's all kinds of family, Brian. And that's a choice you're going to have to make." Tanner walked away leaving Brian to think about what he was going to do about this.

He had to go to Race Wars but he didn't want to face Dom and Knox knowing that he still had to make a decision. In the desert, Knox, Dom, Letty, and Brian pulled into Race Wars. Brian joined Knox in watching Letty race. Knox clapped as Letty won in a landslide.

Brian looked at Knox "are you racing today?"

Knox shook his head "no, I'm not feeling a hundred percent today and I won't race if I'm not anything but." Brian nodded knowing that was smart of Knox.

It was then that the two noticed Jesse come out of the trailer with something in his hand. The two men looked at each other and followed Jesse when Knox called out "Jess, what are you doing?"

Jesse turned around while still watching "racing pink slips."

Brian and Knox looked at each other in disbelief before Brian spoke stunned "to the Jetta. Your dad's car."

Knox sighed "Jesse, don't do it. Don't put up your dad's car." By the time they had said that, they were all at the cars and Jesse climbed into the Jetta as Brian and Knox watched. They both looked over at the black car next to Jesse and were stunned when the window rolled down revealing Johnny Tran.

Brian knelt down "don't do it Jesse. I'm serious. I bet you he's got more than a hundred grand under the hood of that car." Knox nodded in agreement but it was too late. Jesse wasn't listening. Brian looked at Knox desperate but there was nothing they could do. Both men watched helplessly as Jesse pushed the NOS too soon and Johnny beat him.

That night, Brian was in the trailer thinking about the day and his decisions about whether he was going to turn over Dom. He thought about the date with Knox and all of his conversations. Even thinking about the pain and betrayal on Knox's face when he learns the truth was his biggest fear. That's when it hit him like a slap in the face. He was in entirely too deep. He was never going to be able to walk away unscathed from this. He was in love with Knox. He needed to tell him now.

He was dragged out of his thoughts when he overheard Knox and Mia fighting with Dom before Dom, Vince, and Leon left the parking lot. Brian watched as Knox entered the trailer and poured himself some water shaking his head. Brian had a feeling he knew where Dom and the others had gone and knew he had a small window but he needed to tell Knox first. He owed it to him to tell him in the trailer. "I need to talk to you, Knox."

Knox looked at him and noticed the apprehension on Brian's face "what is it?"

"I don't know how to tell you this but I'm just going to do it. I'm a cop." Knox's eyes widened and his face showed betrayal but he stayed silent figuring that Brian was going to explain before he spoke. "Everything I ever said, I felt about you was real. I love you and I'd like to spend more time explaining this to you but every law enforcement agency is coming down on them and those truckers are packing."

Knox looked at him "I knew my brother's plans were going to get them in trouble."

"Knox, look I know I owe you a million and one explanations but I need to save your brother."

Knox looked at Brian and nodded as both went outside and Knox called for Mia "take him to look for Dom. I'll explain later."

Mia nodded and Brian looked at Knox "will you ever forgive me?"

"I don't know, Brian," Knox spoke sadly. "I need time and I wish you would have told me sooner but for now go and save my dumbass of a brother."

Brian nodded "I promise." As Brian and Mia drove away, Brian looked through the rearview mirror and couldn't help but to feel like he had left his heart behind.
