"Finally, we've arrived" Naruto said to himself as they arrived in the not-so-hopeful home village of Tazuna.
"Everyone here seems so sad" Sakura comments sadly.
"It's been like this since Gato arrived" Tazuna said with bitter resentment in his voice.
"More reason for us to complete this mission then," Kakashi said as he eyed their surroundings.
"There, that's where I live, you guys can rest there for the rest of your mission," Tazuna said as he pointed towards his house.
"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go" Kakashi said as he was eager to finally relax a little.
They soon arrived and were greeted by Tazuna's daughter, Stunami.
"Father, Welcome home, and these people?" She asked.
"There are my escorts, they will be protecting me as I build the bridge" Tazuna replied.
"Ah, well you guys might be tired, right? Please make yourselves at home" Stunami said with a smile.
"Gladly," Naruto thought to himself as he collapsed on an empty chair.
"You three relax for a while, after that I need to tell you three something important," Kakashi said as he also collapsed on an empty chair.
"Why can't you tell us now Sensei?" Sakura asked.
"Because I'm tired," Kakashi said as he deeply inhaled the oxygen surrounding him.
Sakura and Sasuke then just decide to rest up for a while as well, knowing very well that Kakashi won't tell them, even if they force him, not like they can.
"Dinner is ready!" Stunami called. Team 7 then walked towards the table, where the food was ready, for them to eat, of course with Tazuma, Stunami, and a kid which Tazuna introduced as Inari.
Inari didn't look pleased with the presence of Team 7, of course, there was one thing noticeable about Inari, besides his dislike of Team 7's presence, it was that his eyes were the same as the villagers they saw outside. Eyes that had no hope for the future, eyes that had given up.
Naruto noticing this, felt something stabbing him, he guessed that Inari's eyes reminded him of his own.
Naruto looks at Inari, and Inari notices, and looks back at Naruto, both of their eyes seemingly reading each other.
Inari then soon leaves the table, running upstairs.
"Naruto! What did you do?" Sakura said, noticing their little staring contest before Inari ran off.
"I...didn't do anything, Sakura-chan," Naruto said, raising his hands defensively, he didn't want to get punched by Sakura, after all the years of not getting punched by Sakura, yeah, so long keeping that streak, he didn't want to lose the streak now.
"That explains why he just ran off like that after you two had your little staring contest" Sakura continued, her arms crossed
"I don't know, I don't even know why we had that staring contest," Naruto said, hands still raised up defensively.
"Now, now, let's not argue while we are having dinner here" Kakashi interrupted, Naruto then had a question in mind.
"Sensei...how can you eat with your mask on?"...
