Clayton

CJ was confused when he heard that his father was out. It's only been a few hours and he didn't even call for an escort. Clay just walked into the clubhouse, past everyone who was out for blood, and walked into church, ready for a meeting.

CJ walked in and sat in his usual seat, in between Tig and Chibs, while the rest of the Charming charter sat at the table, the rest of the Sons who were there for war stood around the table. They all waited anxiously for what Clay was going to say.

CJ looked at his father and saw how exhausted he was, not that he blamed him. He was attacked the night before during a stressful meeting and then taken into custody by Unser. It was now afternoon. "What happened last night can never happen again." Clay drawled out, looking at each of the Sons at the table. "Not just someone trying to off me or my son. But bodies dropping in Charming 'cause of us."

"We had nothing to do with the hit on the Nords." CJ spoke up, looking at the Sons from the other charters. He's heard the rumors in the bar, knowing they were speculating Clay finally had enough of Darby and sent someone to kill the meth head freak.

"Mayans went after me, Clayton, and Darby, all right?" Clay told them. "Different targets, same war. If we fire back... we can't stop the blowback from hitting home." The men around the room nodded in agreement, thinking Clay was going to talk about playing the long game, or striking out of state, like a supplier or an associate, using proxy wars to get their vengeance. But what He said next caused an uproar. "I sat down with Alvarez."

The men standing up looked between each other, mumbling to themselves while the people at the table looked at Clay in shock. Piney looked very unhappy, Bobby narrowed his eyes, Jax looked shocked, and Tig looked pissed.

"What, just the two of you?" Tig asked. CJ almost chuckled to himself. Tig wasn't upset that Clay had a sit down, he was upset he wasn't invited to the tea party. Maybe part of it was about Clay's protection, but CJ was pretty sure Tig was just upset for being out of the loop.

"Where?" Jax asked calmly.

"Unser's cage." Clay answered. "We uh... we discussed our outstanding issues... and made a deal."

"What kind of deal?" Bobby asked.

"We sell them guns. They settle all their beefs with all of us. Any territory hassles, any business disputes... bad blood between sons." Clay looked specifically at CJ. "It all lands in our favor."

"You made that call without a vote?" Piney asked.

"I set it up. We vote now." Clay told the old man before turning to the guests. "If this thing passes... you all sit down with the Mayans in your own territories... you work stuff out. Take the win."

"What about Laroy and the Niners?" CJ asked. "We've had a deal with them for years that we don't sell to the Mexicans."

"Laroy has no loyalty to us." Jax pointed out. "He's been buying from other dealers, he reneged on the A.K. sale. Ain't no reason at all we can't branch out." Some of the Sons nodded with Jax.

"The peace with the Mayans could start something a lot worse with the Niners." CJ countered. "We could just be trading one war with another. Not to mention, it wasn't the Niners we had to fight off last night."

"We'll deal with that fire when it catches." Clay said.

Tig leaned forward and looked Clay directly in the eye. "These assholes tried to kill you, man. They tried to kill your son. Are we all supposed to pretend that didn't happen?"

"No. That debt gets settled. But not by us." Clay said. "It's gotta be some outside Charter. You up for it, Hap?"

Happy, who was standing with the Nomads he brought with, smiled with a certain look that gave credit to his name. "I'll do this thing. I'll make sure it's perfect."
