Prince Alexander's POV:
The glorious day had finally arrived my long-awaited coronation. Soon I would be King Alexander the Fourth. I look around and take in the beauty of the elaborate decorations adorning the grand hall. The black velvet drapes cascaded down the towering pillars, accentuating the room's opulence. I stand there with a stoic expression as I wait, bored out of my mind for the old priest to finish the long and tedious ceremony, I count the seconds till I become king

My mind begins to wander, imagining the power and authority that will soon be mine.

I glance around the room at my soon-to-be subjects, who are eagerly awaiting the moment I am crowned their ruler.

The Preist continues to speak in a monotone voice as my eyes shift towards the entrance of the grand hall. I see a cloaked figure; they look down immediately as my eyes meet their gaze. I wonder who lies behind the cloak, a friend? or foe? traveller? or a threat? I brush the thoughts of suspicion out of my mind. Anyone who dares to try to stand against my rule will surely perish.

Soon, the kingdom would be at my mercy.

The priest finally places the crown upon my head, a surge of triumph courses through my veins. My stoic demeanor breaks as a sinister smirk plays on my lips as I turn around to face my subjects. My eyes scan the crowd, taking in their adoring gazes and hopeful expressions. A soft chuckle escapes my lips. Little did they know that their adoration and hope would soon turn to despair and fear.

Avalaline's POV:
"Your next assignment is to kill King Alexander."
Shadow's voice echoes in my mind as I stand at the entrance of the grand hall. The long, black hooded cloak covers my appearance. I scan the room, observing the lavishness of the coronation ceremony. The grandeur and intricacy of the event speak volumes about the importance placed on the symbolic program for King Alexander's reign. I look at the kingdom's citizens as they look towards King Alexander with adoration and hope, their eyes not leaving him. I wonder how little they know of the darkness that looms over them. As I observe the soon-to-be king, Alexander, his head turns to face me, the stoic expression never leaving his face. I look down, not wanting to meet his gaze and give away my identity.
A black, elegant crown encrusted with gold and many precious gems is placed on the now-new king's head, sealing his fate. The moment the crown touches his head, a wave of darkness seems to ripple through the room. The foolish citizens cheer and clap, unaware of the impending doom that awaits them.
"What a bunch of fools!"
I think, and then take one last look at the new king. A sinister smirk plays on his lips, his dark emerald eyes glistening with wickedness.
