First person OC insert - human cars AU - gay/bi relationship
My name is Justin and I'm the lead mechanic for "Lightning" McQueen, an up and coming racer gunning for the Piston Cup! But McQueen... well he's a hand full, that's for sure.
The beginning...
J grew up in Boston with his single mother who moved from her family farm to Boston to study architecture. He is more even headed then his best friend and crush, Montgomery "Lightning" McQueen, but can be just as scattered on occasion.
As a young teen, J fell in love with racing and would stunt bike race with his half sister before graduation to electric dirt bikes took them in different directions. While traveling for competition, J would watch every race he could, hoping one day to get into cars. It was during this time that J first met McQueen.
Having met his match in talent and skill, McQueen and J had a competitive friendship to begin with. The two loved racing each other until in the summer after high-school (summer of '87) J crashed on the field, shattering his left wrist and breaking his right femur, basically ending his dirt bike career.
Still watching McQueen race, J studied mechanics.
In '01 J brought a proposal to McQueen that both found enticing.
"Let's go racing."
Together the pair bought an old rebuilt Corvette stock car that had once been a street racer called "Cherry Red." Although they gained a Smell Swell Deodorizer sponsorship in the lower levels, the company took a dive, leaving them without a sponsorship just before their first Piston Cup race.
A trip to Boston allowed J to set up a meeting for McQueen with his uncles Rusty and Dusty and negotiated a sponsorship contract in which J was on pit crew and Mack was their driver.
In 2005, the racing team gained the Piston Cup's attention, making them the rookie team to watch on the big track.
