Just as the day before, the market was in full swing. There were males in their beast form carrying around females, stall clerks were yelling out advertisements and partially transformed beastmen inspecting stalls, looking for the best gift for their female.
As they arrived, lots of heads turned to look at them and started murmuring among themselves. The group was quite weird, with the wolf and leopard royal families, and the new, young female who was visiting. Along with the wolf princes, who were usually training. One could only guess what was happening, and most guessed correctly.
"Let's go, I still haven't seen the new traveling trade beastmen, apparently they have shell jewelry made by the Mer tribe. How exciting." Mimi declared, she went to grab Eudora but hesitated.
"Eudora do you want to come with me," she asked. Mimi had been trying to be less forceful to Eudora, if she was, the younger female would become a pushover and would not last very long once she matured.
"No it's ok Mimi, I will stay with Papa," Eudora answered, smiling brightly at her mentor, thankful for the choice. "Maybe we will meet up again later, though." She finished, feeling braver, she pushed her long hair behind her ears.
Mimi nodded and strutted away with her mates in tow.
"How about we do a formal introduction, Eudora is Bart and Shuu, Bart and Shuu this is Eudora." The chief said looking between the wolf prince and his daughter, who had a nervous smile on her face.
It was obvious both the princes and Eudora were nervous, Eudora because she hoped they were nice, and would agree to become her pet beasts. The princes on the other hand wanted to impress, her. It was obvious she would be beautiful once she matured. They hoped she would accept both of them. Wolves were raised and taught in their litters, even the females, so it was common for wolf females to accept a whole litter of wolves who had more training as a team than by themselves. However, it was uncommon for a non-wolf female to accept more than one form of the same litter.
The wolf king and queen, and the rest of her mates, left to explore the marketplace. Harvey and William had already left to visit his family, leaving the princes, the chief, and Eudora.
"I have some transparent crystals you can use, have Bart or Shuu teach you about them since, they are used to trade here a lot." The chief said, offering his daughter a pouch of many clear crystals. The chief didn't move much, just dropped the leather pouch in his daughter's hand and stood a little behind her. The chief was not mistrusting of the princes, he just wanted to make sure no funny business went on if he left.
"Could we go to the clothes stall first, I wanted to have a look at what they have, perhaps you could teach me about your currency as we walk?" Eudora asked, she wanted a conversation to start, so she could get to know them properly before she accepted them.
Shuu, the grey-haired wolf started talking first, he was the more playful and cub-like one, while Bart seemed similar if not a little more mature.
They explained colossal's, how as they got older crystals were formed in their body, and how they got larger and faster with age. A juvenile colossal, about 10-20 season cycles old had an average of 1-4 clear crystals in them, apart from that age, every year they age, they had another crystal. It took at least a beastmen with two stripes to kill a juvenile one, and you should proceed with caution. They then explained King Colossal, they were naturally stronger and had more crystals, gaining two every year they survived, including the juvenile ones. Crystals when eaten upped your health, so if you are injured they heal the injuries without scarring, to a degree, and if you are exhausted they restore your energy. They could also help you become closer to your next mark, but only if you are in perfect health.
Emeralds, on the other hand, are harvested from the large colossal. Massive herbivores colossal's who are naturally peaceful, but will attack if threatened, have extremely strong skin are very hard to kill. Differently from normal colossals, they were born with only one emerald, but it grew as they did. They were capable of continuing to grow for thousands of years, but if they became too large, beastmen would band together to kill one. You had to be at least a tetra-marked beastmen to kill one. Instead of helping you regain health, when eaten, they prolong your help, the small ones buy 10 years but the larger ones could be 50 years and more.
They eventually reached the stall Eudora had seen before and wanted to look at. It was filled with luxurious furs cut in weird patterns, all of them were female clothes. There were some furs that looked to be designed for the feet and hands, and some matching furs to braid into your hair.
Eudora decided that she didn't want to buy anything, and maybe try to see if she could recreate them with her own fur when she was bored.
Shuu and Bart smiled at her as they started walking back to their meeting spot. They had gotten lucky to find this innocent kind, kind-hearted female. They could only hope she would accept one, if not both of them.
When they got back to their spot, the Chief, Harvey, and William were already there. Eudora ran up and hugged each male, before handing the father back his bag of crystals.
Soon the kings and queens arrived back, and they headed back to the wolf castle.
"So have you made your choice?" Asked Mimi, receiving a glare from the chief.
"Don't rush her leopard queen, she is under enough pressure without your constant breathing down her neck." The chief said after he transformed back from his beast form, some of her mates glared at him, but he just ignored them.
Mimi pouted and tilted her head staring at Eudora hopefully.
"Well I guess I will just go over here then," she said playfully, before walking off in fake sadness.
"I have decided to take them as pet beasts, when I get my first heart, they have the right to become my mates," Eudora says confidently.
Both princes, signed in relief and thanked Eudora.
Before the night set in, Eudora, her father, her brother, and William, had set off, back to their village. Excited for the possibilities in the future.
