Rowan Parker sat on her bed, having got a room switch, it being Bernard's third bedroom. She stared at a picture of her and her parents. She had her room decorated the second she had it, having her tie pinned in her board along with some other stuff of her favorites.
Harry was in her room with her at her desk, staring at the same book Rowan was but for him, reviewing the memories in the book Hagrid gave him.
Hedwig and Newt started to make noises making the two look at them. The two opposite colored owls were in their cages on Rowan's bookshelf, per their uncle's orders.
"We can't let you out, Hedwig and Newt. We're not allowed to use magic outside of school." Harry spoke. Hedwig started biting on the lock to try and get out.
"Besides if Uncle Walter-" Rowan was cut off.
"Rowan Parker!" Uncle Walter's voice reached her room making the girl close her eyes then reopen them, glancing towards the door.
"Harry Potter!" Just as they thought it wouldn't get worse, Uncle Vernon called Harry's name making the boy sigh.
"Now you've done it." Harry and Rowan shut their books. Harry stood up as Rowan got off her bed.
A nice cake was set on the counter. Cherries being set all around by Aunt Petunia and Aunt Cadenza. The door opened making the women look up, Rowan and Harry stopping in their tracks.
"They're in there. Walter?" Cadenza pointed to the living room making Harry close the door and walk in with Rowan.
Their houses were more similar so it wasn't a problem to know where was what. Vernon tightened Dudley's bow, Walter doing the same with Bernard. All the men wearing their suits.
"I'm warning you, if you can't control those bloody birds, they'll have to go." Walter threatens.
"But they're bored. If we could only let them out for an hour or two." Rowan reasoned making her uncle look back at her and chuckle, turning Bernard around to the mirror.
"So you can send secret messages to your freaky little friends? No, ma'am." Walter objects.
"But we haven't had any messages from any of our friends." Rowan admits. It was sad to say, neither one of them had gotten one letter from Ron or Hermione.
"Not one.." Harry added. "..all summer." The two men, Bernard and Dudley, looked over at the best friends, brows raised.
"Who would want to be friends with you two?" Dudley asked, approaching them with Bernard.
Dudley purposely shoved his right shoulder with Harry's right. Bernard doing the same with his left to Rowan's left. Her back touching Harry's as they looked at uncle Vernon and Walter.
"I should think you'd be a little more grateful. We've raised you since you were a baby, given you the food off our table. Even let you have Bernard's third bedroom purely out of the goodness of our hearts." Walter claims.
"As of us, we've done the exact same. Your lucky we don't separate you two." Vernon warned them, which might've been the worse of all.
"Not now, bobkins. It's for when the Masons arrive." Petunia spoke after she smacked Dudley's hand away from touching the cake.
"Which should be any minute." Vernon motioned for them all to go to the living room, causing everyone to walk on over. The reason Harry and the Dursley's were over at the Decker's house in the first place, was because Vernon and Walter wanted to make a good impression to get promotions.
"Now, let's go over our schedule once again, shall we?" Walter started. "Petunia and Cadenza, when the Masons arrive, you wil be...?"
"In the lounge, waiting to welcome them graciously to our home." Cadenza spoke, speaking along with Petunia.
