Lilith sat by the fireplace watching tv, her toes dipped in a bowl of warm water, so has for her to not catch a cold. Her mother had made it extremely clear that she needed to keep her feet in the bowl for at least an hour. And although it initially annoyed her. She hated to admit that at the moment she felt particularly cozy. Her mother had also gifted her some peppermint as she believed it a good remedy for a cold.

She heard the sound of a notification on her phone. It was a text message from Rosa asking if she wanted to go on a walk in the forest nearby. Lilith turned her head to look through the window outside at the dark clouds and cold weather. "What ever" she thought. It's not like she had anything better to do.

"Hi Besty!" Rosa exclaimed as she the breath out of her with a tight hug. "Hi Rosa." Lilith said with a laugh. "Hey girl's!" Jess, Rosas older sister shouted from behind us on the path "Don't run too far ahead," Lilith giggled as Rosa rolled her eyes.

"Can we go to the shop after?" Rosa asked. "No." "Oh come on!" Lilith accidentally said out loud. "I'm sorry Lil but I have band practice after this" Jess apoligized. Rosa rolled her eyes again at her sister. Jess opens her mouth to say something but hesitates. "Do you have money?" She says giving in. "No..." Lilith admitted.

"Why can't ye just go by ourselves? Aren't you both like 15?" "We want to but our stupid parents say we are STILL too young to go anywhere without an adult." Lilith grumbled. Her frustration ebbing off of her. "Besides why would I want to go with my stupid older sister." Rosa added on. "If you keep on talking like that you won't be getting pizza for lunch this Friday" Jess replied. That made Rosa shut up.

A strong gust of wind blew all of Jess's purple and black hair in front of her face, some of her hair sticking up like a troll, it was impossible not to laugh at. Lilith laughed. "You know what? Screw it, I'm always late for band practise anyway." Jess said blowing her hair out of her face. "Yes!" Lilith exclaimed. She knew exactly what she wanted to get. She could just imagine the jellies and chocolate, her mouth began to water. "Don't go over the top though" Oh well, maybe she could cut out a couple things from her list just to be kind to Jess's credit card.

"Catch me if you can!" Lilith shouted running ahead of them. "Hey no fair! You know I'm slow!" Lilith heard Rosa shout from behind her.

Lilith raced ahead not stopping till she knew she was far ahead of them. She looked back, and she couldn't see them.

She admired the nature around her as she slowed down to a brisk walk. The tall trees, branches stretching out with leaves, hues of gold, orange and red. The wet grass and the cloudy sky truly set the mood.

Lilith quite liked Autumn. Just the vibe it gave off. It wasn't her favourite season, that title was reserved for Winter (One word: Christmas). Autumn wasn't really anyones favourite season, not because it was bad, it just didn't have anything about it that stood out. Lilith found it quite cozy but then again, Winter was also cozy (Yet another reason why it was the best).

She heard the sound of footsteps behind her, distracting her from her thoughts. It was a man, a hood over his head, the only thing concealing his identity. He was quite close behind her. They couldn't be much more than a foot apart. The air between them was unsettling.

So she was just going to ignore it. Like she did with everything. It might be unhealthy but nothing happens most of the time. Most of the time.

They came up to a fork in the path. And Lilith was glad to see him go. But he didn't go; he trailed behind her. Just as before. Lilith was too afraid to speak to him.

The silence hung in the air as Lilith's uneasiness grew. It would do no harm if she just picked up her pace a little would it?

She became alarmed when the man also started to walk faster, almost like...he was trying to catch up with her.

She started to run. She looked back to see him running too.

"No, no, no!" She screamed internally. "Run." She commanded herself. Trying to push herself beyond her limits and run even faster, it was exceedingly hard due to the amount of panic she was enduring. She ran off the path and into the forest.

She didn't dare look back. "Slow down little girl" she heard the man say. She gasped and her eyes narrowed. "Run." She tried focus as hard as she could on getting away. She considered screaming, but that would make her lose focus and tri-

She tripped over a fallen branch turning around and crawling backwards, desperately trying to get away. But she fails and he leaps forward and stabs her. He stabbed her. She shrieked in agony.

She punches him hard in the face not knowing how else to get him away from her. She breaths heavily as her shirt soaks with blood, the deep scarlet liquid contrasting with her once white t-shirt. She could hardly think with the overwhelming pain. A tear rolls down her cheek. She wasn't ready to die. She couldn't die. It was funny how experiences like this make one realize their own mortality, the vulnerability she had long ignored had caught up with her. But she wasn't ready to die yet. She noticed he had dropped his knife when she punched him. She started crawling towards it frantically. The man was coming to his senses.

She was so close, she was almost there. She reached her hand out to grab it- and the man's hand got to it first. She looked up at him as he brought the knife down on her. She screamed as loud as she could.

Her eyes watered as it dawned on her that it was too late.

And then, everything went black.

A/N: That was a short first chapter, but more, longer ones are coming! Keep in mind that although I do edit this story, it is still a first draft. I pretty much copy and paste it from Google Docs.
