Chapter 2: Attempted Confession (Pt 2)

I really do want Amethyst to like me back, but I don't know if I'm ready to tell her, let alone if she's ready to hear me out. Garnet said something about her really caring about me, and I hope that it's true. 

Amethyst POV:

I really really really  want to know what Pearl was going to say, but I hope it's something good. "Hey Amethyst! Now will you play with me?" Steven asked, holding up a controller. "Sure Steven," I replied, taking the controller. We played for a little while, then Pearl walked in. "Hey P!" I yelled, "Wanna play with us?" "No thank you, Amethyst," she said gracefully, "I'm just here to get Steven's laundry." "Aw okay," Steven said. 

     Pearl walked over by us and said, "I'll watch you play while I do this, though." She winked at me, and I blushed a little. She's never treated me like this before, I wonder why she changed her attitude. "Thanks for playing with me, Amethyst," Steven said, "but I promised Connie I'd go to the movie theater with her." "Hey no problem, Stevo," I said. I stayed in the living room to ask Pearl about her recent attitude change. "Hey, um, Pearl?" I hesitated. "What is it, Amethyst?" she asked. "I was just wondering, um, how come you're being so nice to me?" I asked with a flinch. "Well, I'm trying to be nicer, less harsh on you. So, I'm trying to turn over a new leaf because I... well, I um," Pearl struggled, "because you're a wonderful gem, Amethyst. You're my friend, and I need to have more patience with you." I blushed. Hard. "U-um thanks, P," I said. "Yeah...S-so there is something else," Pearl said. "Yeah?" I asked. "So, I've been having this feeling. A different feeling. So, I wanted to say to you that I-" I cut her off. "I love you, Pearl!" I have for a while!" I said without thinking. I gasped and put my hands over my mouth. I blushed. How was she going to respond...?
