"Here's your badge," Mr. Dickinson says as he hands me the shining object. "I believe you have gone through the documents I gave you about crime scene investigation?"
"Yes, sir, I have,"
"Good, you may now go greet your new colleagues," I nod, walking a few step backwards before turning around and exiting the office. It's my first day at my new job and I have yet to take it all in. I am now, officially, a federal agent working for the CSI. I look around the large room, taking in all the busy people hurriedly pacing around between the isles of desks.
"Hi," I jump slightly when someone greets me from behind. I turn around and my eyes meet a beautiful young woman. She's a few inches shorter than me, brown hair falling softly in front of her shoulders. "I'm Sandra Prescott," she extends her hand for me to shake; "Miss Prescott, I'm Alexandra Basset,"
"Please call me Sandra, we're not that formal here," she smiles at me and adds; "Unless you're in the boss' office of course," she winks and I can't help but grin. "I was thinking that you would like a little tour since it's your first day?" I nod and thank her as she leads me through the aisles of working people."This is your desk," she tells me and continues: "And these are some of your colleagues," she points to the three people who sits across from me and smiles at them, probably waiting for them to introduce themselves. They seem to be deeply immersed in their papers and Sandra coughs awkwardly. The first one to react is a male, probably in his late thirties, who stands up to shake my hand. "I'm Ryan, Ryan Danton. You must be Alexandra Bosset?" he smiles widely at me and I cannot help but feel very welcome. "Basset," I correct him and smile back. He nods and sits down. The other two are both women, and complete opposites of each other. One with blonde long hair and pale skin; the other black hair and tan skin. They introduce themselves as Amila Kipling and Zoe Lancaster. "You must be Alexandra," they say in unison and laugh. "We are so happy you're here, we have really missed other girls around here. Sandra, Amila and I are the only ones at this office," Zoe tells me and rambles on about how they desperately need new friends. It is not until Ryan grumbles at her, telling her to shut up that she stops talking. She fires back a sharp remark as she sits and gets back to her work. Amila doesn't say much, but nods and smiles as she also sits back down. Sandra shows me the rest of the large office, and introduces me to every single person. There are so many, it will take me ages to learn all their names.
"You're off for the rest of the day, so you can leave now."
It's only 2pm and I offer my help with anything but she brushes me off; "It's fine, really, go home and practice on the documents Mr. Dickinson gave you," I nod and pack my things. As I make my way to the front doors, I quickly look back and wave at Sandra. The second I look forward, I bump into someone and almost stumble backwards. A large hand grabs ahold of my upper arm and steadies me. I look up and meet a pair of green eyes. He's tall and handsome. He is wearing a uniform and a mop of curls cover the top of his head.
"Hi," he says but doesn't smile. "I'm Harry,"
"I'm Alexandra Ba.."
"Basset, I know," he interrupts.
I'm a bit taken aback by his behavior, and I don't get to say anything before he brushes past me. Before he opens the door to the office, he turns around and looks directly at me; "Watch where you're going next time, Alexandra."A/N: Hey guys, this story is just getting started and I promise there will be both drama, romance, (sex) and much more!
