Chapter 15

Gwendal's POV

Oh, my blood pressure. These youngsters really can't make a day pass peacefully. It's no wonder my headache doesn't go away.

"Gwendal, it's done. We received reports that finally, all entrances and exits in the capital are successfully blocked and there's massive inspection on anything going out," Conrad came to inform me as I was searching in the square, where there are a lot of carriages passing through.

"Okay, good. You done searching the market area?" I asked.

"Yeah, most of the shops are closed for the day and not many people are there. Where is Gunter?" he replied.

"Him and Yozak are searching the inns... I also heard that Geika went to Shinou's temple to see if he or Ulrike can communicate with Shinou," I said.

My brother let out a deep sigh and said, "What if we're already late and Wolfram is already out of the capital?" He's obviously concerned... and what he said was something I was also thinking about. Oh, I can feel another headache coming.

"Conrad, I swear to Shinou, you better keep your godson away from me while this whole ordeal is not yet through. I don't know what I might do to him," I warned him as we continued to inspect the carriages and their passengers.

"Now, now. Don't be too hot-headed, Gwendal.," he tried to coax me into getting back my composure but it was already way too late for that.

"What do you mean 'now, now'? That bastard laid his hands on our youngest brother! They're not even married yet! You think babies are made by holding hands?!" I was fuming. If my brother and Gunter didn't restrain me a while ago, I might have beaten the maou to a pulp, not caring if his family was there. Stupid hormone-raging teenager, can't keep his hands to himself. "Tell those who finished inspecting their assigned area, they should also start looking outside the capital."

My brother agreed and went to deliver my order. Arghhhh! Wolfram, why must you be as impulsive and stubborn as can be.

Sigh... these youngsters. It seems that even with the number of adults they have around, it's still not enough to take care and look out for them.

Wolfram's POV

I don't know how long I slept this time but when I woke up, it was twilight. It seems like the sun is about to set. I heard the coachman's voice,"My lords, we've already exited the heart of Grantz territory and will soon reach the border between Grantz and Bielefeld."

"Finally! My but is getting sore!" my companion rejoiced.

I guess no turning back now, huh. Well, not that I intended to backout though I only did this on a whim. And I don't know if it's because there are almost no carriages or people on the road, but we reached the border pretty quickly. I guess traveling in twilight hours makes the trip quick with the roads less busier.

We got off the carriage and thanked the coachman. When I was about to fetch my belongings at the back, Al grabbed my luggage, "I'll carry it. We're boarding the same carriage again anyway. It's not good for you to carry stuff, and it's not good for the twins."

I was a bit surprised, but welcomed the help.

"Oh, I was planning to have some breakfast first before getting on any carriage. Is that alright?" I said.

"Sure, let's eat first. Oh! I know a good place. Come with me, I know the owner. My treat!" he said and then led the way.

Of course, I was not about to decline a free meal. I followed him and we arrived in a cozy looking small restaurant, not many people yet as it was early in the morning.

"Aunt Dhalia! It's been a while! How's Kian?" he greeted..

"Oh! It's Al! It has been a while. It's so good to see you. Kian's still asleep, you know him." she replied. "Oh who's this beautiful flower?"

"Oh, uh... this is Rammy. We met on the carriage ride from the capital." he replied.

"It's nice to meet you, ma'am." I greeted.

"Oh, no need for formalities, dear. Come, take a seat." she beckoned towards the tables, and so we took our seats and started ordering. Half-way through our meal, we heard another voice coming from upstairs.

"Mom, have you seen the pair of socks I washed yesterday?" the voice said.

"Kian, look who's here with a pretty companion. It's Al! Come down quick." Miss Dhalia replied.

"No way..." was his soft reply, in obvious disbelief too. Not long after he burst from the door next to the kitchen. "It's really Al! How've you been?"

Then his eyes landed on me and his jaw dropped. I nodded towards him in acknowledgement of his presence and continued to eat my food. After a minute or two, "Hey, Al! Don't tell me, you–"

"No... sadly no. We just met last night on the carriage ride. And don't start thinking you can have a chance. He is a noble... and it seems that he already has a companion, although they're going through a rough patch as he's a piece of work." Al replied. More light conversations arose until we finished our breakfast.

"Thank you for the meal, Auntie. How much?" Al asked.

"Don't be like that. It's on the house, lad. Take care of your company while on the way." Miss Dhalia said.

"Oh please, you don't have to. This is your business. We can't not pay when we ordered a lot," I insisted.

"Alright..." Miss Dhalia gave in and Al paid for the meal as promised.

We then went back to where carriages are waiting and got on one that will pass my father's estate.

Waltorana's POV

"My lord, a letter from Blood Pledge Castle has arrived just now," said my assistant who just entered the office.

"So early... I wonder what it is this time around."

I took the letter and read its contents.

...

"HUH?!" I couldn't help but exclaim. Even my assistant was surprised by my reaction.

"My Lord?" he asked cautiously and I threw the letter to his face.

"Make haste and assign people who will join the search party discreetly." I said. He quickly read the letter and his eyes went wide... He then quickly went out of the office. Me on the other hand, went and wrote a letter to my brother, Wolfram's father to inform him of the situation.

What is going on in Shin Makoku?! His majesty had an accident and now has amnesia... The wedding was delayed... He confronted Wolfram... then Wolfram ran away. He can't be found in the capital... and it turns out he's pregnant...

Ahh... my head
