Since the first time working as a private driver, Byun has always been grateful for his job. It offers above average salary, generous meal allowance, family health insurance, paid overtime and serene working environment.
He was a corporate driver for eight years, his job was driving for the executives of the company to commute for business related trips. He was also the one responsible to take care of the vehicles that were assigned for them, including engine routine check up and maintenance. It was a breeze, though he couldn't say the job was exciting, but it was a stable job, something he needed to support his family.
At least, until around a year ago, when he applied as personal driver for the Park family.
His daily task are mainly driving Mrs. Lee, the lady boss, going places like the mall, -Lotte, Starfield or Galleria most of the time, high end boutiques in Hongdae or Gangnam, and lavish salon or spa for her weekly treatment. Twice a week he would drive her to meet with her husband at a luxury restaurant of his choice for dinner. Once in three months he has to take Mrs. Lee for her contraceptive injection at Asan Hospital, with the doctor that was also appointed by her husband. It's the mandatory thing that he needs to remind his boss, so she will never miss the appointment.
He doesn't hate his new job, although -again, he couldn't say it's an interesting one. Whatever it is to keep his monthly paycheck, he will have to do it. Not to mention that he got twice the increase from his salary at JH, something that he definitely couldn't refuse.
But the worst part of this job is how he has to keep his silence no matter what is going on in front of his eyes.
Mrs. Lee is somewhat talkative to people who are close to her, but she never speak about her private affair nor family problem. And it really makes it hard for him to keep the facade, the calm and collected composure he has to maintain as a part of this assignment.
Especially when eight months ago, he found out that Mr. Park had been cheating on his wife, which she was completely clueless until yesterday, after she lost him in the accident. Since when the affair actually started, he had no idea. But from the look of how intimate and comfortable they were with each other, it might have been more than a year. He even saw Mr. Park kissed his mistress during a charity dinner party, in the garden outside the ballroom where the event was held.
