Time slippage

Lila Ema and Rebecca slowed down , the gap between them and the others had started  to get bigger , until the distant chatter of their classmates seemed completely suppressed by the woods sourrundung them.   They came across  a small trail that split up from the main course. It led to a section in the woods. Not to far off in the distance between a few birch wood trees they could make out a wooden gazebo. It looked like it had been standing there for years. Lila pointed her finger toward it "Look , let's check this out" . It was about 50 yards left of the main course . They decided to follow the trail that led to the structure. There was a small bench big enough to fit all the three of them on it. They sat down on it and looked around. In the distance they could make the last 3 of their classmates out until they were completely absorbed  by the woods.  Something felt off. The air around them felt different. The small wind from before seemed to have halted abruptly.

It got very cold suddenly. Rebecca produced a lunch box from her backpack. It seemed like her mom had made her cooked rice for lunch. From her bag she took out a small Chinese spoon. "I'm freezing" Emma said hazily.
