It was raining a lot more than usual in Fontaine after Y/N's disappearance.
The skies were gray, and only cleared up for a little bit once in a while, but then went gray again, and began to rain.

Monsieur Neuvillette also seemed less..serious about the trials, his eyes glossed over as if he was spacing out. However, no one noticed (and if they did, they didn't dare speak up) except for Furina.

It was a cold and rainy day, and Neuvillette was sitting in his office. He meant to do some paperwork for the most recent trial, but he found himself unable to pick up his fountain pen and write. Especially since that pen reminded him of a certain someone...

Furina, waltzing in to his office as usual, noticed Neuvillette just sitting there.

"Monsieur Neuvillette, your eyes have been looking dreary lately. Are you okay?" Furina was being genuine for once, and putting aside her fake pride.

Neuvillette, sitting at his desk as the rain poured outside, looked up. "Lady Furina."

Furina comes closer and leans her body against Neuvillette's desk.

"It's about Y/N, isn't it..?"

Neuvillette looks at her, his eyes sharp as always but a hint of emotion sparking behind them.

"You guessed correctly."

Furina's eyes saddened, a clear sign that she was also missing Y/N. After all, Y/N was her first "friend"..someone Furina thought she could confide in, of her worries and thoughts. Of course, not her deepest secrets, but having someone to talk to took away her loneliness, at least for a little while.

"..I know." Her tone was sincere.

The two sat there in silence for a few moments, thinking of their close friend.

"...I'll be going out now..to clear my head." Neuvillette said promptly, getting up, his long robes flowing behind him.

"Okay. Be safe." Furina also exited his office.

As Neuvillette walked along the rainy streets of the Vasari Passage, people around him stumbled to run home, getting doused in rain.
"Come on quickly, before we get sick!"
"Gosh, I hate the rain!"
"It's..raining..the water levels.."

Some passerby's turned their heads to look at the Chief Justice, walking casually in the rain as if it was nothing, the cold and stoic expression on his face never wavering.

As he walks, he can't help but think more of Y/N. She, as much as he doesn't want to admit it, was a prominent figure in his life. Yet, he didn't know why.

If Y/N were here..what would she do? Would she run? Enjoy and hop in the rain like a child?
Or perhaps she would..

"Hydro Dragon, Hydro Dragon, don't cry!"

He stopped walking, his stoic expression cracking ever so slightly, a sad smile dancing across his lips.

He missed her.
More than he thought he ever would miss someone in his life.

He wanted her to be with him right now, smiling with that beautiful smile of hers, saying the nursery rhyme, in blissful ignorance of who the Hydro Dragon actually was.

If she were to ever come back..he'd tell her who he was.
He knew she'd accept him.

He sighs, the thought being a ray of light in his dark life.
But for now, she was gone, disappeared by who knows what, gone to who knows where.
