1. The Beginning

A week into the apocalypse

"How are your brothers doing"Xavier asked while looking at the road.

"don't know about Merle but Daryl is fine, he asked how you were doing last week actually" Skylar answered grinning at her partner who was currently driving them to the site of the case that they were given this morning.

"Oh yeah what did you say, did you say I was amazing and I'm the best partner you could wish for," Xavier said while flicking his imaginary hair behind him making Skylar snicker.

"Oh no I told him that you were bringing me down and was slacking, I also told him that I was going to ask Chief if I could get a new partner," Skylar said making Xavier stop the car and look at her in disbelief which made Skylar bite her lip trying to stop herself from laughing.

"How could you, I thought we were best friends, how could you want a new partner, just why," Xavier said making Skylar burst out laughing.

"I'm joking, god I told Daryl you were fine, now close your mouth and let's go, I want to at least go home on time," Skylar said getting out of the car.

"What did Chief say this case was"Xavier asked while getting out and standing next to Skylar.

"A 112 came through about someone screaming out in pain, two officers went to the scene and all we know at this point is that there is one person down and one person that needs medical help so let's see what they've got for us, "Skylar said walking into the Motel with Xavier close behind her.

As the two detectives walked the Motel they were met with two Deputys talking with the Motel owner one of the Dpeutys looked over to Skylar and Xavier who were listening in to their conversation writing anything important, the Deputy walked over to the two.

"Hello I'm Deputy Grimes," the deputy said looking at Skylar.

"Hello I'm Detective Dixon and this is my partner, Detective Kim, what have you got for us"Skylar asked.

"Well, we got a call about someone screaming out in pain in one of the Motel rooms and the caller said there was also groaning, after the caller called us they told the owner, now the owner told us that when he went to the door to check he couldn't get in the door but what he heard was groaning there were no sounds of screaming as we got here we busted through the door one of the people in the room came charging at us so we had no choice but to shoot, he died instantly on scene due to a headshot my partner called an ambulance for the patient who is in with the patient now and that all we have for you," Deputy Grimes said as he guided them to the room.

when they got to the room they saw the medic covering the patient body and called out the death of time Skylar went into the room to see the situation of the case, and Xavier walked over to the medic's.

"How did the patient die"Xavier asked the medics which made Skylar walk up to the two deputies who were writing down notes.

"Can I ask you a few questions just to help us with the case?" Skylar asked the two deputies who looked up at nodded their heads.
