VANCE HOPPER LOVED the rain, but didn't really love the idea of walking in it. The snow was now almost fully melted, and spring was around the corner. Rain drops pattered against his shoulders on his dark blue rain coat, dripping down his back. He tied his hair up so it wouldn't get wet, but didn't think about his bag. He made it to school, and stopped in front of it. I sighed, wondering if he should go or not. He decided it wasn't a school day, and went back home. His family wasn't home, so it was fine. He unlocked his door, and shook off the water on his clothes like a dog. Taking his bag off by the door, he felt cold and wet. 'I should have a shower, before i get sick.' He walked to the bathroom, and stripped his soaked clothing. He felt those eyes on him again. He looked out the small window in the bathroom, seeing no one. So he tried his best to ignore it, though he felt uneasy. He had a quick shower, and got out as fast as he could. He dried off and put on a blue t-shirt, and grey sweatpants, and sat down on his bed.

Several minutes had passed, and he still felt someone watching him. He figured it was just nerves, though it felt like someone was constantly following him. To say Vance was scared would be an understatement. He was constantly on edge, thinking something would happen. He found his mind wandering off to Robin Arellano. He found his mind doing that more than often, lately. His stomach felt like it was filled with butterflies. But right now he was missing Robin. He didn't know if he was mad at him or not. He felt like he messed up. But thats just how friends feel, right? Vance and Robin were just friends. He laid down on his bed, deciding to give his mind a break. He closed his eyes, drifting off to sleep.

Hearing a light tap on his window woke him up. He opened his eyes, and sat up on his bed, rubbing his eyes. It was now getting dark, and he had no idea if his mom, stepdad, or step-brother was home. Then he remembered something was tapping on his window, and he looked over. Nothing was there. He walked over to it to get a closer look. Nothing. He just assumed the tapping was a part of his dream, or he imagined it. Like dreaming about falling, then waking up to flinch in your bed. He sighed, slapping his face a little to wake him up. Walking into the kitchen, his family weren't to be seen anywhere. He wondered if they had gone somewhere, and forgotten to tell him. That has happened often, so Vance wouldn't doubt it.

Looking out the kitchen window, the streets were empty. The sky had cleared up, and the rain was gone, leaving puddles on the road. Going into the living room, he spotted a small note attached to an envelope on the coffee table. He picked it up, and read the note.

"Vance,
i apologize for not telling you before, but i didn't want to wake you. Jeramy, your dad and i have gone on a trip for your dads business. We figured you didn't want to go, so sorry if you did. Anywho, we left you some money to take care of yourself while we're gone. Hopefully it'll be enough:)
we'll be back in 3 weeks!

Love you, mom"

"What the fuck." Vance spoke out loud. He rolled his eyes, picking up the envelope and looking inside. He took out all the money they had left, and counted it. His mom left $215, which was enough, Vance guesses. He put the envelope in his room, and went back to bed without food. He hadn't eaten the whole day, but he couldn't care less. He wasn't hungry anyways. He was about to fall asleep, when the tapping on his window came back. He opened his eyes, and looked to his window. It was now pitch black outside. 'But i only just closed my eyes.' He thought, getting up and checking the time. 12:55 AM. "What?"

He looked to his window, seeing Robins face. He gasped, jumping. He saw Robin snicker a bit, before motioning to the window to let him in. Vance rolled his eyes, and walked over to the window, opening it wide. "Hey." Robin crawled in. "Why are you here?" Vance asked. Robin threw up jazz hands. "Surprise..?" Vance sighed for what felt like the one hundredth time that day. "You know i have a front door, right?" Robin scoffed. "Thats no fun." Robin roamed his room, looking at all his posters and records. "Cool room."

"It's literally 12:00 am. Tell me why you're here, or leave." Vance sat on his bed, arms crossed. Robin stopped walking, and turned to him. "I wanted to apologize for the other day." Vance raised an eyebrow. "Why?" He asked. "Because, i just walked away for nothing. You didn't have to tell me why you we're acting that way, i was just overreacting." Robin sat next to him. Vance was confused on why robin was apologizing. The whole situation was childish.
"Its-- fine, i guess.." Vance said, making Robin smile. "Ill leave now." Robin laughed, getting up and walking to the window. "Nobody's even here, why are you going back to the window." Vance asked, and Robin turned back around. "Oh. My bad." Robin walked to Vance's bedroom door. Vance didn't know why, but he quickly got up, and grabbed robins arm. "Wait." Vance spoke.

Robin looked to him. "Hm?" Vance sighed, looking away. "Did you want to.." he started, only to stop himself. "Never mind, good night." Vance let go. "No, no. What were you going to say?" Robin asked, smiling slightly. "Just—, no, never mind. Its nothing." Vance opened his door. Robin pieced together what he was about to say, and decided to ask himself. "Do you think i could stay the night? I mean, its really dark out, and there could be creeps out there." Robin laughed nervously. Vance raised his eyebrows. He didn't want to be alone in his house. Especially not when he feels someones eyes on him all the time. "Uh, yeah. Yeah, sure." He smiled. "Awesome!" Robin ran to Vance's bed, collapsing into it. "Not on my bed!" Vance frowned, though it didn't look like robin was moving anytime soon.

He eventually gave in, and walked over to the bed himself. "Move over." He pushed Robins body over to the side, before crawling under the blankets, giving some of the blanket to Robin. It took a while for the two to fall asleep, an awkward silence overcoming the dark room. But after Robin randomly bursting into laughter, and a random conversation debating about what the best flavour of ice-cream was, they both managed to fall asleep tangled up on one another.
