I awoke and groggily rubbed the sleep from my eyes. Glancing at the clock, the unnaturally bright red numbers read 8:45. I looked down next to me to see a cascading of brown locks turned gold from the rays of sun shining through the window.

Through the parted curtain of hair, was the face of a sleeping angel. I leaned in and kissed her forehead. I saw her eyes flicker under her lids before they opened slowly. The sun seemed to cast a glow around every part of her face, not just her hair.

Her eyes were flecked with gold. I don't remember seeing that before, it didn't matter. Misty was beautiful and she was mine.

"Hey Lovely." I smiled lovingly.

Misty yawned, her mouth forming an oval shaped 'o'. My heart fluttered and disappeared. She stole my heart ever since I saw her and kept doing so every day.

"Hey Dog." Misty smiled.

"I am not a dog." I told her sternly, yet I couldn't hold back a small smile at her joke.

"Yes you are. Hmmm, let's see....a Chihuahua or how about a-"

I growled. "I will NOT be compared to a CHIHUAHUA!"

"Okay, okay, chill. I was just joking around." Misty rolled her eyes.

I took a deep breath. Or a few breathes. Once I calmed down enough, I said, "Sorry Love. It's insulting to be called a Chihuahua....I guess...." That and my Wolf did not enjoy being called a small dog....it's insulting.....

"You know I was only joking." She stated bluntly, shrugging her shoulders.

"I am not a dog. I am a wolf. A big, strong, powerful, Alpha...in training." I mumbled to myself. I don't think Misty heard me as she gave me a quizzical look.

"Let's just go get something to eat." I sighed and ran my hand through my hair in a failed attempt to look presentable.

Misty P.O.V

I was sitting at the counter of the gigantic kitchen in the Harper's Pack House. My eyes widened at the amount of food being served.

Okay, so one person, occasionally two had to cook for most of the pack. Shelly and Dani (pronounced like Danny) were sisters of the Luna and practically cooked around the clock to keep everyone fed while also cooking for their own families.

Next to me, Cole was shoveling food down his throat. I hesitantly took a plate and started picking food from the vast buffet.

I sat next to Cole who nodded in acknowledgment. I took my fork and experimentally placed some eggs into my mouth. Whoa, those eggs were delicious! I quickly finished my plate and got up to get a second helping.

I turned back to see what can only be described as a Barbie doll. Slim figure yet clearly artificial in the chest area. She turned around and all I could see of her face was makeup. The only natural coloring was her grey eyes and possibly her light brown hair, although it was probably dyed. The roots were noticeably darker, her hair was probably black, or a darker shade of brown. She raised an eyebrow as if to say 'You jealous?'

I just rolled my eyes and ignored the fact that she walked towards Cole and wrap herself around his body. I turned and went to sit somewhere else. I was his right? He wouldn't chose that plastic fake over me would he? Stupid jealousy.

There weren't any seats inside so I headed for the deck. It was a nice day and I found an empty chair at one of the tables that littered the wooden platform.

After I had put my plate and utensils back in the kitchen, I headed back out towards the deck. Leaning my right shoulder against the house, I faced one side of the forests surrounding the backyard.
