"A cold day"
« There's no mission today, take this as a day off and chill Toji. » Shiu Kong had told him.
He didn't know why he came, nor what he would be doing here, but here he was. Standing in a park.
And it was fucking cold.
Sighing, Toji started walking to a stand where hot drinks were sold.
He should be home sleeping or watching TV right now, so he genuinely was confused as to why he decided to come here to chill. Nonetheless, what was done was already done and he shall just make the most of his time here at least. And so he stood in front of the counter, ready to order.
"Chocolate milk please." He spoke at the same time as another person, surprisng the cashier himself, Toji lowered his head as his eyes met with the same dark ones he had met already twice in the span of two weeks."Um, you first." she cleared her throat taking a step back.
"No ladies first." he cracked his neck getting in line far enough behind her to not make her uncomfortable. She looked -positively- surprised to see him for a second time. Toji didn't know what took over him, why acting gentle when just yesterday he was ending someone's life for money ?
"Thank you." she smiled at him, it was the second time she did it to him. He wasn't used at all to people smiling at him, no instead they'd look terrified, or they'd devilishly smirk because they would use his skills to murder someone else. But her smile was... sincere. And beautiful.
"600 yens please ma'am." the cashier said, she nodded opening her purse as Toji sighed. « What the fuck is wrong with me today... » he mentally punched himself as he took a step forward.
"I'll pay, just make it two chocolate milks." he (unwillingly) slammed a little too hard the money onto the table causing the cashier to jolt before he took it and quickly prepared the drinks.
The short haired woman who's last name he remembered was Fushiguro gasped turning to him. "No sir you don't have to pay I can do it !" she exclaimed.
"Don't care, I already paid anyways." He shrugged not even looking at her. She frowned at his attitude before repeating.
"I can pay, I appreciate but don't waste your money on me !"
He closed his eyes sighing before looking down at her. "I never waste my money, and I told you it's already paid so just move on." He coldly said.
"Here's your drinks." The cashier shyly pushed it towards them fearing the aura of Toji as in the contrary Fushiguro widely smiled thanking him meanwhile Toji just walked away.
"Wait !" she followed him quickly catching up. "Thank you." she bowed.
"Hm." he hummed in response trying to ignore her. He felt like he had been way too kind today and it didn't ressembled him so he went back to his usual cold self rather quickly and didn't say anything when she greeted him goodbye and went a different way. Though he stopped for a minute looking at her back as she was disappearing from his sight.
The same day on the evening, Toji was now standing in front of his apartment door searching for his keys to unlock it. He frowned though when he felt something else in his pockets. Coins. And it clearly wasn't his... he chuckled a smirk plastered on his face. « So that's what she ran after me for... fucking stubborn woman. »
