"I hate you, I love you."
Kei's eyes slowly opened up as the light of the sun skimmed on her eyelids. She shot her eyes close short after as her head was aching and her pupils still not used to this much light. « Is it already morning...? » she thought, frowning. She felt very hot, but cold at the same time and her whole body was hurting. « How did I make it home yesterday? » she was confused, since she remembered not feeling good at work last night, so she left a bit earlier to go rest, and when she was making her way home... she remembers the dark streets, but then... nothing. It was totally blank in her mind. « Did I pass out..? » she gulped at the thought, it was really a miracle that she had safely made it home after wandering in such a state this late. Anything could've happened to her and she had shivers just thinking of it. Maybe an officer or one of her coworkers brought her home. It didn't matter right now, she had another emergency to deal with.
« I need to go to the bathroom.. » she mentally sighed forcing her eyes open as the sun rays once more attacked her. But she managed to sit down on her bed, moaning in pain as she felt she was left tired and aching from yesterday. But something else caught her attention this moment. A smell... there was a scent of... eggs roaming around her room, which confused her. Wondering where this scent was coming from, Kei tried her best to stand up and figure what was going on in her kitchen but she couldn't even try to push on her arms that she fell on the floor in a loud thud. She started panting, trying her best to stand up but it was nearly impossible.
Her face quickly raised up to her bedroom door —which was open, when she heard footsteps coming in her direction. Was someone in? She gulped crawling back as she started panicking, did the person that brought her home stayed in? Hell no one even knew her address in the first place, no one could've walked her to her house. She had no family nor close friends, so who was it? She was currently weak and wouldn't be able to defend herself from whoever would be crossing her door.
When the shadow became a person, Kei could've sworn she would've imagined anyone, hell even Jesus as she had accepted she may have died, anyone but him. "T—Toji..." she whispered in shock as she saw him approaching.
"Kei." He looked sort of surprised when he saw her on the floor, and she was not sure, but was it worry she just noticed on his face? "Don't try to move, you're too weak right now." He sighed walking to her, he was now standing just in front of her, as she looked up now feeling so small, but all the emotions that piled up during his absence certainly did not disappear, and so she clenched her teeth glaring at him.
"Leave." she simply said, but in a very cold tone she had never used before to address him. But he couldn't be mad at her for that, he understood her anger. So he bent down to face her as she looked away, not once wanting to have to look him in the eyes. "I said leave!" she repeated clenching her fists.
He sighed before delicately taking her small hand in his big one. Her lips parted in surprise as she watched him do. "Look Kei... I know you're upset—"
Before he could even go half way in his sentence, she gathered all the energy she had left and violently snatched her hand away from Toji's, surprising the latter who looked at her just to see her facial expression. She was hurt. Offended. Shocked. All because of him.
"« Upset »?" she repeated his words in confusion. Tears welled up her eyes as it was now Toji who looked down. "Upset you say? That's all? That's everything you think I feel after you ignored me for a whole month after I gave you my all?" her voice broke as she unwillingly sobbed, crying in front of him was the last thing she wanted. She didn't want to offer him that satisfaction but she couldn't help, it was such a shock to see him randomly pop up again in her life like he didn't leave it wounded.
"I'm not upset Toji, I'm outraged, I'm sad, I'm hurt, I'm disgusted! Not even of you, I'm disgusted with myself!" She cried as her fists were clenched. The sudden adrenaline gave her the strength to let it all out on him, so she violently pushed him back. "Why, why did I believe your words?" she punched his chest. "You're such a liar! All you ever did was lie to me! Everything you said and did was in order to get in my panties and now that you've gotten away with that you magically come back and act like you're worried?!" she kept on pushing him and his attempt at touching her again and again as she was insulting him, Toji finally decided to silently take it all knowing that she had the right to feel like this about him, even if it was in order to be with her and protect her, he did make her suffer, a lot. And he decided to let her free herself from this burden. "Liar liar liar liar!" she repeated again and again throwing —weak—punches.
