*Author's Note: I'm planning to try and finish this before my summer ends, so I'll probably be posting one chapter after the other. A sequel is planned as is a third book and a fourth book.

I have no doubts that the passages in the journal may not be written correctly. I tried my best though and even did my research. If you happen to notice any mistakes, I would greatly appreciate it if you guys told me about them. Thanks my people!!! On to the story!*

*IMPORTANT!!!! I made a mistake in my earlier chapters! The oldest vampire is at least 1000 years old! So Jared is only about 600 years old and there aren't any vampires over 1000 years old!*

*Warning! Language!*

The awkwardness continues to linger, the two princes never taking their eyes off my figure. After a few moments, I can no longer stand it and open my mouth, but Nathaniel beats me to it.

"Vick is it?"

"That's what they call me."

"What a strange name."

I rub the back of my neck and shuffle awkwardly. "I'm a strange person."

"I can see that." He murmurs distastefully.

Hearing him, I shrink back and attempt to turn away from his piercing gaze. Ashton's soft chuckles drift towards me, making me want to shrivel up on the spot.

"So you're a hunter?" Ashton asks in a soft voice.

"Was. I was a hunter before I was turned."

"I see. So I'm right to assume that you didn't wish to become a vampire?"

"It was forced on me."

From the corner of my eye, I finally see Kieran turn to face my uncomfortable figure. My jaw nearly drops. He's gorgeous! He seems to have no flaws. No- he has no flaws, his features looking like one of a Greek God. Is it even possible for a being to be this beautiful?

He speaks up, his voice cold. "The first competition is after dinner. Everyone is to attend the meal starting at 6. Don't be late, Vick."

He brushes past me, his scent washing over me. Confused by the tone, I send a curious glance to his brothers. Ashton merely shrugs his shoulders and turns, walking off.

"You should probably go get settled in," Nathaniel says, cutting through the tension.

A half smile makes it to my lips and I walk out of the throne room. Outside the doors, my mind works overtime trying to remember which way I came from; this place is humongous! Pots of magnificent flowers line the walls here and there, some paintings almost three times the size of me. I decide to wander further into the castle and as I go in deeper, the lights give away to candles. They eerily flicker, casting an ominous glow.

Alright, where the fuck am I? It looks as if this part of the castle was deserted. Cobwebs cover everything in sight along with inches of dust. A sneeze escapes me when I accidentally bump into a drape, causing the dust to explode around me. I groan and wave off the dirt, a frown covering my features. Then something catches my eye from the side.

Slowly, I twist around to eye the wall. The dull stones stare back at me, dust shrouding them. Humming in curiosity, I step in front of the wall, scanning the area. There it is again! A strange outline in the shape of a jagged door. My eyebrows furrow as I press my hands against the stones, pushing slightly. It doesn't budge.

How strange... Maybe it's just my overactive imagination getting to me.

I step back, only for my foot to get caught on the worn rug. Before I can plummet to the ground, I grab the nearest candelabra. Instead of ripping it off the wall (like I expected), it tilts down under my weight and a click resounds. Perplexed, I move to get up when a puff of dust explodes from the wall, ensuing a coughing attack from me. When the dirt clears up, the wall has opened up, revealing a hidden passage.
