"...attached to u in ways i can't explain..."
~Julain
The morning light tiptoed through the curtains, gently coaxing me out of my slumber, but I clung to my pillow like it was a life raft in a sea of dreams. I felt as if I had just survived a wild night out—well, I actually had. The balcony curtains swayed with the grace of a ballroom dancer, while the sun outside shone brighter than a disco ball at midnight. Then, in sauntered Ice, panting as if he had just won a marathon. His tongue lolled out, and I couldn't help but chuckle at his enthusiasm. He was the best alarm clock a person could ask for, even if he did come with a side of slobbery wake-up call.
"Morning, buddy," I greeted him, giving his fur a tousle and receiving a shower of drool in return. Ah, the joys of dog ownership.
Just as I leaned in for a good morning smooch on his adorable snout, a voice boomed from the corner of the room.
"Look who decided to join the land of the living. Did the world in that dream of yours stop spinning without you?"
It was none other than Rory, her sarcasm sharper than a chef's knife. I shot her a grin, knowing full well that annoying her was going to be the highlight of my morning. It's the little joys in life.
"Actually, it did. I had to get up just to give it a little nudge. You're welcome," I quipped, earning an eye roll from Rory.
"It took you long enough, Sleeping Beauty. I've been waiting here for ages," she retorted.
"Sorry, I didn't realize I was on your schedule, Cinderella. I would have arrived sooner if I knew I was saving the world," I replied with mock seriousness.
"Oh, what would the world do without your heroic efforts?"
"Probably spiral into chaos. But lucky for them, I'm here to save the day."
"You're something else, you know that?"
"And you love me for it," I replied cheekily.
"Don't get too ahead of yourself. I tolerate you at best,"
"Sounds like love to me,"
"Believe what you want,"
As I leaned in to kiss Ice's nose. "I didn't expect you to wake me up this morning— to what do I owe the pleasure?"
"As much as I enjoy waking you up, I actually have plans for us today."
"Do tell. What exactly are these plans that require my esteemed presence?"
"We're going shopping," she announced proudly.
I raised an eyebrow. "Are we now?"
"Yes. We are,"
