Welcome to the Multiverse!

Flower field... A dark imposing figure shares it's presence... It pities me that much is obvious. Is this the grim reaper? Wow... It's really all over then... My demise only fills me with happiness for the oddest reason. How did I end up here? I'm asking the same question, my friend. But... It doesn't really matter. Wherever I am... This is the end.

I'm sorry such dreadful things happened to you; it was the result of a flawed world. In compensation for everything that has transpired, you have been given a second chance to redeem yourself. For heroism and a terrible cold death...

I'm flicked on the forehead... A very rude awakening. A tall skeletal figure, a monster, greets me; he sees my emptiness and sympathizes with me. I look around not knowing where the hell I am and in my confusion the man crouches, and offers me a glass... smells like paint-

"...I respectfully decline." I say.

"...Understandable, but I need you to drink it-"

"Absolutely not, who the hell are you..." I said, interrupting him, and rightfully so.

This job never gets easier...

"What job?" I replied.

"How did you-... I apologize for being a jerk. The multiverse's best Protector at your service!" He said pridefully.

"Multiverse???"

Ok, what the hell is happening! I don't even know where I am, and now I'm being told there is a whole multiverse! I can't even process this- He's definitely insane.

Goddamnit... I'm getting the "you're insane" look, aren't I-

This guy read my mind-

"Multiverse." He said with a bit of annoyance. "That will all be explained in due time. Do you remember how you got here?"

"Not a clue." I said sadly.

"What great fun." He said sarcastically. "Anyone you remember from previously, including friends, parents, and so forth."

"Nope."

"Your soul trait?"

"Nope."

"Your name."

"Mist," I said softly, the word escaping my lips almost effortlessly. There was something intriguing about that name, Mist. It held a certain mystique that appealed to me, making me believe it was a perfect fit for me.

"Well... Mist. Welcome to the multiverse!" He said with enthusiasm.

"Thank you, Mr. Papyrus."

"Thank me not yet, you don't have a place to stay right? Wait- I never told you my na-"

Spray-paint starts to spread all over the place, Ink has a very unamused expression craved on his face.

"Fly! I said I got this!" He yelled.

"Why isn't da brat here already, dey puttin' up a fight?" The supposed "Fly" responded.

"You want me to kidnap them?" Papyrus snarked.

"I thought dat was wat we was doin' " Fly said confused.

The spray-paint cleared and I got a good look at the guy. 90s was saying it nicely, it pained my eyes for me to look at him. Wait... Paint got in my eyes-

"Not yet at least." He said jokingly.

"Can someone tell me what the hell is happening." I said, miserably.

"Fly, I got this." Papyrus said, calmly. Fly leaves, leaving more spray-paint behind. Papyrus looks back at me. "This gonna be a long talk so why not come to a more suitable place."

I consider taking the deal. Why the hell would I go to some random middle-aged skeleton's suitable place. Then I realize I have no fucking clue where I am, what my real name is, who my family is, what I look like, my age, my birthday, and I have no grasp on my current situation. It couldn't hurt to be optimistic for once.

"What other choice to I have?" I respond.

"Realistically speaking, none other." Papyrus said, chuckling. He finds amusement in my suffering.

"Then what are we waiting for, give it your best shot." I said, excitedly. I guess this a fresh start, maybe I'll live a peaceful quiet life, and build a new family. Honestly, I'm starting to get real impatient. Papyrus grabs me, we are off.
