"Wait, what?!," they all shouted. "Jazz, you are taking a big risk here, you are entering a match of life and death," said Donna. Bricks, John, and Irons looked at each other with worried faces and started talking to each other, did I say something bad, offended them, or bring a bad memory back?, I thought.
Irons looked at me and said,"Jazz, if you're joining this tournament, we are joining with you as well,"he then looked at Donna and Mandy and told them that they should train me on athletics, speed, and stealth, John said he was going to train me on planning out my tactics in order to win a match quickly, and Bricks and Irons were going to make me strong.
The next morning, I heard a voice calling me," Jazz wake up," I woke up and saw that I was at the gymnasium. I looked around and saw John in front of me saying,"hit me if you dare," I sent a fist to his face but was quickly grabbed from my arm and thrown to the wall. I got back up and ran to him to give a fury of fists to his chest, but he grabbed my hands and threw me to the ground,"anger makes the fighter weaker and reveals their weak spots."
"I'm going to drink some water, keep training," John said as he left. As he left, the lights began to flicker off and on and the room suddenly turned dark,"John tell the guards that there's a blackout!" I yelled, but there was no response. However, all I heard were giggles that echoed through the gym.
I quickly walked through the dark room with caution to avoid any injuries but I stopped moving when I suddenly heard footsteps getting closer and as soon as I looked up, three figures jumped out of the ceiling and dropped me to the ground."It took you ten seconds to know we were going to ambush you, it should have taken you three seconds,"Mandy said while giggling."Wait, I thought there were two of you, who is she?", I asked. The other figure blushed and replied,"my name is Eve." As I met Eve, I saw that Bricks and Irons were watching me and they told me that they are impressed that I was able to detect Donna and the others in just ten seconds.
Before I could reply, Irons grabbed my right hand and began to crush it slowly and painfully."To handle pain, you must feel pain,"said Irons as he crushed my hand. My hand was beginning to hurt so badly that Mandy requested Irons to stop hurting me, but Irons ignored and crushed my hand even harder, as I looked at Irons's face, I saw that he had a scar on his right eye and I decided to react by ignoring the pain.
The group was impressed, but they were impressed even more when I grabbed Irons's arm and threw him to the ground. Irons got up and knew what I was trying to do,"impressive, but can you impress us even more?" "Just watch me," I smirked as the lights turned off. "Irons, what's Jazz trying to do?", Eve asked,"he's trying to test us," he answered. Eve, Donna, and Mandy quickly searched for me in the darkness and stopped moving to listen to their surroundings. They stayed together, knowing that it would be hard for me to take them down at once, so I threw a bag of powder to the ground which surrounded them with smoke," smoke? Really, is that the best you can do?," they asked. I grabbed and took down the two sisters one by one until Mandy turned around and saw that they were missing. She looked around and I took the chance to take her down, but she turned around and kicked a bag of potatoes thinking that it was me and I tied her up along with her sisters.
"What do we do Irons?", asked John. " Separate, we'll find him faster,"he replied, but I knew what Irons was doing, he was trying to get my attention in order to take me down, so I decided to show up behind him but as I got closer, he threw fists at my face and missed his move,"I know what you're trying to do Jazz," he said calmly. As I looked at him from the ceiling, I began to sense that John and Bricks were behind me, ready to take me down, yet as they ran and jumped me, I tied both of their legs to a rope and left them hanging there. The lights turned on and Irons saw how I left the group, I fell to the ground and saw him,"bring it on Jazz," he said as he cracked his knuckles,"you are going to regret this Irons," I replied as I smirked.
Irons dashed straight towards me, but I used the environment to my advantage by using the walls as cover, the bags to cover my tracks, and used the poles in the gymnasium to move around and attack Irons. Irons saw where I was and used his arms to hold me, but I surprised him by stunning his arms and tying his hands and legs together.
I untied the entire group and they stared in shock,"what do you think Irons? Is he ready?" He stared at me and replied,"he's ready." Everyone planned out how and what they are going to use in the tournament, but before we left, we were asked what we were going to wear to cover our identities. John said he was covering as a guns expert named Longshot, Irons and Bricks went as luchardors named the Fearsome Duo, Eve, Donna, and Mandy went as super powered fighters called the Fast Chasers, but once it was my turn, I couldn't decide what to become,"Jazz, become something that gets you scared everyday, become a force to be reckoned with," Irons said to me. As I thought about what to become, I saw a shadow coming from one of the windows, as soon as I saw the figure, I knew what I had to become, I must become a bat.
