The red head took another look around, noting the knocked over shelves and cabinets, the scroll lying about half torn apart, the few books he owned carelessly tossed to the floor, some ninja equipment also adorning his walls, as if someone tried to use the wall as a target.

The dining room and kitchen weren't off much better either. Plates were shattered on the floor, much like and of the breakable kitchen appliances. Food in the fridge was either smashed, or thrown out the window, leaving the already little supply he had on nothing. Gaara got up, carrying the blonde in the process as he slowly made his way to the far back room, which eh assumed to be the boy's bedroom. Luckily, he guessed right, entering the tattered and absolutely destroyed place.

He vowed to himself that he will help the cute blonde clean up the mess and get back on his feet. Maybe even get him a better living space. After all, being the kazekage's son made finances no problem to him. So, with the rying jinchuriki still in his arms, he propped him up do he could hold him with one, using his other to push the books and tattered clothes off of the bed, gently placing him onto it. The boy cried and cried, letting out all the pent up sorrow he felt. It was a heartbreaking sight, even for the red head, who desperately wanted to comfort him, but was unsure of how.

So, acting on what he knew to be instinct, he reached out both his hands, gently resting them atop the other's shoulders. He didn't expect Naruto to jump into his arms and embrace him the way he did, but he allowed it for once. After all, he was having a moment, and he knew better than anyone what being a jinchuriki was like. He held him until the sobbs turned to soft sniffles, eventually dying down to the softest of snores he'd heard in his life. Realizing the man must've fallen asleep, he gently placed him back down onto the bed, getting up to start cleaning up a bit. If anything, at least the bedroom should be clean.

He got straight to work, picking up the clothes that were strewn about, picking up a broom and shovel to sweep up the broken glass on the floor. He picked the picture frame up, noting that that's where the broken glass came from, froning upon seeing the blonde so happy beside the raven and the silverette he'd seen not so long ago. He shrugged, feeling determined to win the sleeping beauty over for himself. Thinking about him, he couldn't help but look at the peaceful expression he held while sleeping. The tear streaked face held so much remorse, but looked so beautiful and at peace the way the setting sun shone down onto it.

He felt shock all of a sudden, realizing just how late it had gotten. He hurried up and cleaned the rest of the room as best as possible, deciding to replace the dresser next to the bed sometime later, as he couldn't just go buy one this late, let alone carried it on his own. As he placed the last pice of folded clothing into the still intact wardrobe, he went back over to the sleeping male, getting into bed next to him. He turned his head to face him, reaching out a hand to wipe the tears from his face.

He contemplated staying the night, or just leaving without a goodbye, deciding on the earlier. He couldn't just leave the blonde like this. Before long, he felt his eyes going droopy, fear taking over as he tried to stay awake. That was until, he felt the ominous energy subside, which made him realize that he won't try to consume his mind overnight. He looked down at the smaller frame holding his hand, instantly calming down as he landed back down, keeping their fingers laced together. For once in years, he decided to succumb to sleep, which is precisely what happened not even a minute later.

It was then that the jinchuriki acknowledged just how tired he'd been this whole time, deciding to thank the blonde first thing tomorrow. After all, his mere presence let him fall asleep, which hadn't been an option in his life for almost a decade.

~ The next morning ~

Gaara was the first to wake up after a well appreciated sleep. He felt revitalized like never before, and decided to clean the kitchen and dining room up before doing some early groceries to make the other some breakfast. So that's exactly what he did, and he left with a small note on the now clean dining table for the blonde to see should he wake up sooner than he manages to get back.

Luckily, there was no need to write it, seeing as the jinchuriki was still sound asleep, so Gaara immediately got to work, stirring up a quick, yet nutritious breakfast. Seemingly awoken by his nose, a sleepy male made his way to the kitchen, rubbing his eyes at the doorway. "What's that good smell..?"

Gaara felt like smiling. Chuckling even, at the blonde's cuteness, but restrained from it. After all, he's not the type to do that. "I made you breakfast Naru." He immediately started with the nickname, liking the way the short syllables rolled off his tounge. The other seemed to like it aswell, mumbling out a thank you before sitting down at the table.

"You didn't have to. And where did you get ingredients for the breakfast? I thought I didn't have anything left anymore?" He inquired, genuinely curious as to when and where the other got the things. After all, he was planning on going without breakfast and just grab a Ramen at the shop and do late groceries once he goes back home. He also noticed that the kitchen and dining room were absolutely pristine, like the man had done a deep clean of everything.

"Also, thank you for cleaning up both my room and the kitchen. And the dining room. I could've done that myself. You didn't have to, after all, you're the guest.." The man mumbled, feeling genuinely embarrassed about the situation. "It's quite alright. I like cleaning after all." The red head assured, making the blonde sight in relief.

That's when a knock came at his door. Immediately, both males froze up, although Naruto seemed worse off, so Gaara quickly plated their food and placed it onto the table, going to open the door. Naruto just stared at the food, unable to move a muscle.

~ Gaara's POV ~

I walked to the door, placing my hand on the knob as I gently turned the handle, greatful that I had my Gourd on and was able to ready my sand should it get nasty. As I pulled it open, I felt my eyes widening, seeing who stood there. Immediately, I stood in the way protectively, making sure the person could not see that Naruto was in the house as clearly that's who they were looking for.
