Killian's POV
August 19, 2917
Dear diary,
My day has been quite troublesome. The first thing I was greeted with at breakfast was obnoxious jokes about my stupid hair, by people who see me as less than them.
They say it's weird to have silver hair and something must be wrong with me. I have a condition called albinism.
I read a book where someone was able to change their hair color by using a thing called "hair dye." Sadly that was one of the many things that was forgotten on earth during the great evacuation.
Today, I also went to check on the girl in the S.A.C.. Of course she was still in her frozen state, just as she has for the last 300 years. Just imagine all of the data we would be able to recover if she had written in a diary.
Now, we just keep her chamber around in case she wakes up, but pretty much just for research purposes.
Apparently she was the younger sibling of Lucas Walker, the great leader of Mission: Restart. The person that brought us here. By now, the story is mostly cast off as just a myth, like the supposed "Revolutionary War."
Stories like that are obviously a myth. If you're going to make up stories, at least try to make them sound realistic. Like, who would take over the island of "Hawaii" just to get control of their fruit production. So stupid.
According to the books I read, the reason her S.A.C. malfunctioned was because a part of the ship hit the thawing date regulator and screwed it up. Her brother Lucas tried waking her all the way to his death while running the colony at the same time.
I don't really remember what happened next in the story but that kind of feeling that the book described is foreign. What was it? Sadness, I think it was.
I don't have any siblings because my mother died while giving birth to me. She too, had silver hair according to the last picture I have of her. As for my dad, he got my mom pregnant and just up and left.
Another story I read about our current planet was, our planet was named Supernova 1 because the human race was similar to the life stages of a star.
Currently, Earth is sitting about 1,504 billion miles away from Supernova 1. It's just a barren rock, the average temperature is about -115 Degrees Celsius or -176 degrees fahrenheit.

Day 71
I am close to cracking the code and hopefully fixing the unsolved mystery about Nemo Walker. I have disabled the security systems that could possibly harm her during the wake up process.
I felt a firm hand on my shoulder and looked up to see Bob, he was an engineer on the top level.
"You should give up on that, it's the 300 year anniversary of her S.A.C. date, today. I don't think a 16 year old boy like you could best some of the smartest people on Supernova."
I rolled my eyes at his suggestion and answered, "Wow dad, thanks for the encouragement." His face hardened into a small frown as he sheepishly scratched the back of his neck. "Well, y'know, I just don't want you to spend your whole life on this project and have that big brain wasted in the end."
He wiped off a smear of dirt and oil from his jean overalls. The smear probably was caused by being in the engineering lab. I changed the subject,"You were in the lab?" I paused, narrowing my eyes. "Why?" I interrogated, while eyeing the dark smears across his arms and pants. "Well, we need to finish creating the new element, hopefully to minimize power usage, or maximize power production." He explained in his casual hillbilly manner, dumbing it down to me like I'm an idiot.
He shouldn't have been in the lab today, unless the Chief of engineering moved up the date they needed to finish their project. Damn him. He keeps moving up the dates on everything, putting stress on Bob and his coworkers. He has to leave early in the morning and comes back late at night, almost every day at that.
I wish I had a higher position, or at least Bob. If we were even a little bit higher into the colony, then we could actually do something about it.
I returned back to my work and with all my might, ignored the group of loud, giggling girls entering the room.
"Hey Killian, whatcha doin', hanging out with your girlfriend?" She paused as the giggling got louder. "Oh wait, she's still frozen, sorry" Eliza giggled along with the rest of the group. I glared at her and continued working on the S.A.C. beside me.
Once my back was turned towards her, I heard fast high heeled footsteps. Just as I turned around, her hard cold hands grabbed onto my collar. "You better not ignore me, freak. You are below me and you always will be. Learn your place."
Bob scurried away in fear. Eliza Smith was the daughter of Chief Commander Smith. I excused Bob for his cowardly behavior on account for his fear of losing his job. She easily had the power to remove him from his job. "Well, kiddo, I gotta git back to work. Good luck, ya goofball." Bob said, sheepishly and nervously chuckling as he hurriedly walked away.
I turned my attention back to the girl that was gripping the collar of my shirt with threatening freshly manicured hands and an iron tight grip. She quickly moved her hand behind her head, I knew what was coming next, it already happened several times before. She slapped me in the face, her manicured nails, studded with face jewels, scratched my face. I felt a familiar pain stretch across my cheek. "You better learn your place," she said in a bitter tone.
I waited till the group of bullies exited the room to react to the pain she had caused. I rubbed my cheek and wiped off the blood. A bruise was also sure to form.
I stood up from beside the S.A.C. and grabbed my tool kit. I've had enough for today. I hurried back to my quarters making sure none of the adults saw the blood running down my cheek.
Once I made it to my quarters, I stood in front of the small mirror hanging over my bathroom sink. I opened a compartment hidden in the wall and took out a first aid kit.
I'm almost out of Health Patches, also referred to as HP. If I get any more from the Medical department, they're going to ask what's wrong. I don't want that.
I grabbed one about the size of the injury and unwrapped the plastic packaging. I carefully placed it over the scratch and rubbed it on so it was smooth. I winced in pain from the anesthetic on the surface of the patch, but the pain quickly subsided.
I tapped my Wristwatch, a transparent, glove-like device. It took a moment to load, probably because of its age, but it finally beeped and turned on. It stored all of my data I collected about the girl in the S.A.C..
I began looking through the data from the past week along with what I gathered today. I was just finishing up reviewing my data when I noticed something weird. It caught my attention and I was quickly attracted to it. There seemed to be an anomaly in the data.
The data was different from today than the data that had been collected last week. The data that is being collected is never being exported, meaning it shouldn't ever be able to change. As I dug deeper into the problem, one thing became clear.
This was something huge.
Just when I was scrolling deeper into the layers and layers of embedded data, I finally saw it. The solution to all of my problems.
Thawing date: 22:00 August 19, 2917
I looked at the calendar hanging loosely on the wall and the breath caught in my throat. The blood ran cold and my skin became pale as if I had seen a ghost. Though, I might as well have.
Her thawing date was today. I reloaded the file and checked if it was the same.
There in unchanging letters, it read.
Thawing date: 22:00 August 19, 2917.
I anxiously looked at the clock beside my calendar, it read 21:58:34.
Running off of pure adrenaline, I ran at full speed to the S.A.C.'s. My sneakers squeaked loudly after every step I took.
I guess that takes away from the whole point of sneakers.
I sprinted down the rows of opened chambers and finally found it. It was still unopened.
I looked down at my Wristwatch and the time read 21:59:56.
I counted down the seconds in anticipation and wonder.
