"I'm sorry about my friend, he can be grouchy when he doesn't eat." T-rack explained and Renee giggle.
"Oh trust me, I know exactly what that's like." She responded, looking at me with a smirk.
I glare at her, wondering what the hell that was supposed to mean.
"But real quick, do you mind giving us a min to talk?" She asks Tyreke, giving him that flirting look again, batting her eyes. He licks his bottom lips nodded his head. She pulled me to the side while I look at her.
"You knew they was here didn't you?" I asks, not beating around the bush.
Renee pretend to be offended placing her hand on her chest, mouth open and was going to lie. I gave her 'I am not in the mood for these games' look.
"Okay, okay. Yes I knew they was here which why I suggested to come to this mall." She confessed and I grunt loudly, not caring people are looking at me crazy. "But I swear to you, I am also looking for jobs too and I didn't know they was going out to eat after. I just wanted to see him so please don't be mad at me." She begged, doing that same old puppy dog pout with her hands closed together like she's praying.
I wanted to go off on her so bad, but I sighed instead.
"You're lucky as always that you're my best friend otherwise, I would've went off."
"I know and again I'm sorry. I should've told you. But look at it like this, at least we get to go out and eat some real food since we only had cereal and granola bar earlier. Did I mention a hot meal?" she added, wanting me to cave in.
I gave her a really look but my stomach started growling. "Fine" I said, only because I want real cooked food and hoped these fools, mostly that attitude Dread nigga is paying.
Renee squealed, thanked me and walked towards T-rack holding my hand. "My beautiful friend and I would love to join you two for brunch."
******
"I don't have any money so, would it be okay that you cover for me and I'll pay you back?" I asks Dread, sitting at a booth across from him as he glued his eyes on his phone again.
"I know you're broke, get whatever you want." He responded bluntly.
I rolled my eyes at his smart ass comment and look across from Renee siting ten feet away from our table. Laughing at whatever T-rack was saying in her ear sitting next to each other.
I shake my head at my friend being happy. Not really hating on my girl, I honestly ain't ever see her smile this much. I just hope that fool looks after her or else he will deal with me. Best believe I haven't forgotten about that hoe of her cousin knew T-rack. But for now, I'll just give Renee her alone time with her future hubby I guess.
I take my time, looking at the menu after opening it, debating what I should get since I've never eaten at a restaurant before. Janie crack head self could only afford fast food or when her late night junkies buy her pizza because they're so cheap.
As I continued looking, a thick chick with them Dark burgundy red rose highlight wig swayed her hips like she a model or something and stood by our table but her main focus is on Dread while popping her bubble gum.
"Hey Dread" she greeted, blowing another bubble.
Of course I thought to myself, rolling my eyes.
"You getting yo usual?" she asks, popping her gum like it's cute when it's annoying as hell.
"Yeah, T-bone steak well done, scramble eggs hard with a mix of the red skin potatoes season. Sub the pancakes for red skin potatoes using the same season as well. Water and lemonade, I'll order something to go later." He said not looking up from his phone.
"I gotchu baby"
Baby? Is she dating this asshole? I look at her with a raise eyebrow.
"And you miss?" she asks after switching her flirt to a straight face in seconds, giving me attitude. I chuckle, not wanting to make a scene.
"I guess, I'll try your Sirloin Steak Tips well done. No mushrooms and no onions, I'll sub the hash browns for red skin potatoes light on the seasons without onions and green peppers. I want my eggs scramble with cheddar cheese and have it mix with the seasoning as well. And I'm okay with regular pancakes. For drinks, I'll get water and a lemonade too." I finished, closing the menu.
"Tsk, well damn girl. I almost thought you was gonna order the whole menu like your little friend over there." She pointed at Renee and looked back at me. "I guess broke greedy bitches gotta eat huh?" she comment, trying to be funny.
I wanted to go off but instead, I force a smile. "I mean hey, it's whatever these fine boys wanna spend their bread on us. Which by the way, thank you Dread" I said, flirting to this boy just to piss off this bitch name Chanel from her name tag.
"No problem" he responded, which caught me and the trick off guard that he even said something, but I kept my poker face.
I'm just glad he didn't embarrass me by talking smack or not say shit at all. The Chanel bitch rolled her eyes at me after mumbling whatever and walked away so she can put our order in.
That bitch betta not spit in my food.
"She won't spit in your food" he said, responding to my thoughts again and I started to get freaked out.
"Okay, can you please stop doing that?" I complained.
"It ain't my fault your face keep making shit obvious but whatever." He said, being nonchalant.
I rolled my eyes and sighed by this boy attitude and I was feeling bored. I wished I had my own smart phones like Apple or Samsung so I can play games or at least read a book from Wattpad.
About fifteen minutes later when it felt like forever, our food finally arrives as the bitch places our plates down in front of us.
"Damn" I said out loud, staring at the food as the aromatic hit my nostril. I didn't hesitate to start digging on my plate using my fork. I moaned in satisfaction after trying out this steak tips.
As I enjoy another bite, I felt someone was watching us and noticed Dread finally taken his eyes off from the phone except he hasn't eaten his food. He looked straight ahead but not looking at me with that weird look on his face. I hate it that my curiosity got the best of me, I was going to turn my head slowly until Dread said.
"Don't turn around." He demanded calmly, looking at the people making noise from the back section next to the kitchen and bathroom.
Shit, he ain't gotta tell me twice. I thought to myself.
I nodded my head and focused back on my plate except sadly, I started to eat slowly since I'm feeling scared as fuck. I am low-key hoping there won't be another shoot out again or else, I will kill Renee this time.
