Chapter Five Kristian

I have never seen a woman as angry as Adrienne was a couple of minutes ago. She seriously looked like she wanted to rip my head off and dismember me one by one. Obviously I shouldn't have posed as Jasmine and faked an emergency but I was afraid she wouldn't have come otherwise. All I wanted to do was see her again, was that too much to ask?

"Dude, I don't think you should ever do that again, she wanted to rip your head off! What did you tell her anyway?"

"All I said was "Apartment. ASAP. Emergency. That's it, I swear Alex. I didn't threaten her life or anything and she acted like that." I sit on the recliner and run my hands through my hair.

"Well I think you hit a nerve. Something must have happened before to make her retaliate like that." I just hope I'm not in too much trouble.

Jasmine walks back into the living room, "She wants to see you." She points to her bedroom door ten feet away.

I get up and head towards the bedroom door. What should I say? Should I apologize even though I have no idea what just happened? Of course I should, I'm the guy right? No matter what, the guy always has to apologize. I take a deep breath and poke my head into the window. Why is she sitting on the floor in the dark?

Not knowing what else I should say, "Hi."

She waves me in, "I'm not going to do anything."

Does she want me to leave the lights off? I mean, I can barely see her? Better to leave them off, I leave the door slightly open so we can at least slightly see each other. Sitting on the bed three feet from her, not looking at her for fear she'll start ticking like a bomb. "I'm sorry." I whisper.

She smiles for a fraction of a second and goes back to her expressionless face. Why does she do that? She goes from one emotion to another faster than that blonde Swift girl and her boyfriends. Her hands start to shake a little too, is she an addict?

"It's not your fault. Obviously you hit a sore spot and I'm sorry you had to see that. I overreacted and I wouldn't have - shouldn't have reacted like that." She looks up at me with her long eyelashes and green eyes. If I didn't know any better, I'd think she was giving me the puppy dog eyes. She looks away just as fast and I smirk. She goes hot and cold in less than a second. Who is this girl?

"That was still not a great way to ask you to come over though. I should have went with the more non drastic measures. I just," I look away from her afraid she'll be uncomfortable, "wanted to see you again."

"So? Wanna go back out there and join those two on the couch?"

Thankfully she doesn't seem uncomfortable with my confession so I look back at her and smile. "Yeah, sure. Let's go." Phew.

She gets up and I follow her out. I can't help but notice that this girl has curves in all the right places. Damn. Just a couple of nights ago I was holding that. Snap out of it! I'm not a pervert but come on, I am a guy. That's still no excuse though. Besides if she catches me checking her out again, she might snap and I don't think I will be able to get myself out of that one.

I sit on the recliner, trying not to do anything that might rile up Adrienne. Is it me or is the air getting a little thick? I heard somewhere it takes about four seconds for a moment to turn awkward. Yeah, that's what it is, awkward. Alex, is of course, swallowed up by T.V, Jasmine is staring into space and trying to hide it. A small grunt breaks the awkwardness and I turn to the source.

Adrienne's eyes are wide open and it looks like she's trying to hold in her laughter, but why is she laughing? I doubt it was the T.V. because no one else was laughing.
