People seemed to still Scarlett and Tony were still broken up, they let them believe it, all the more while planning their wedding, it was going to be a small secret ceremony family and close friends only, no photos allowed.
The day of the wedding Scarlett was freaking out when Pepper, Maria and her mother walk into her room "Scar calm down all will be okay" her mother, Mia said softly.
"Will it though, I mean seriously will it be okay?" Scarlett asked.
"Hey if he doesn't show up I will deal with him personally" said Maria her strong Italian accent coming through as it does when she talks to people she cares about.
Scarlett chuckles, she knew Maria was protective of her and always would be, although Scarlett was contemplating jumping out the window and running away, while Maria, Pepper and Mia's backs were turned Scarlett eyed the pregnancy tested box that she secretly bought.
Scarlett wasn't even sure that she was pregnant, but she was a week late and one thing Scarlett took pride in was that she was never late.
"Scarlett?" Maria asked snapping the 28 year old woman out of her own thoughts.
"What?" she asked, seeing three concerned faces.
"You're very pale and not focused today." comments Mia taking a close look at her daughter's face.
"Mam, I'm fine." Scarlett said batting her mother's hand away.
Maria had gone out the room and came back a few moments later, holding a tiara with a veil, her veil, from her own wedding to Howard's father, Scarlett gasped as Maria fixed it into Scarlett's hair.
"Maria, I can't." Scarlett said softly.
"No, you're wearing it, you're the closest thing I have to a daughter, Scarlett." said Maria, seriously.
When Howard and Sam, show up at the door, the ladies move out the way so that the two fathers can see Scarlett.
"You look perfect." Sam said, looking at his daughter, it only seemed like yesterday that she was a six year old girl back in Ireland planning her dream wedding, not to Tony Stark obviously.
"Howard, shouldn't you be with Tony?" Maria asked her husband.
"I've just left him, I'll go back don't worry." Howard reassured his wife.
Howard left, to go find his son, hoping he hadn't deserted the wedding at the last minute.
It was a small wedding, only family and close confidant friends, knowing they wouldn't tell the press.
Later, it was time for the wedding, Rhodey was Tony's best man, Tony meanwhile was shifting at the end of the aisle waiting for his future wife to appear.
"Relax, she'll be here." Rhodey tried to reassure his best friend.
